A vast disappointment,
This review is from: Breakpoint (Mass Market Paperback)
This is one of few books I selected with reasonable expectations and then could not read it all the way through. After suffering through half of the book I looked at the ending and threw the book away.
I have an immense respect for Richard Clark, his experience and expertise. But he has written here a story that lacks the main ingredient of a thriller - an interesting, captivating action.
I would not mind some scientific improbabilities. I would like a much better characterization, or rather, at least some characterization, but I could even forgive that, if there were something in a chapter that would want me to read the next one. Unfortunately, that is missing.
If someone likes to read about tools that are or may be developed for warfare and terrorism, this book might be of interest. But a good piece of thriller literature it is not.
