This review is from: The Vegetarian Family Cookbook (Paperback)
I've used this cookbook for about 2 years now and it has continued to be one of my favorites. What I like best is that the recipes are generally family-friendly (ie, my kids and non-vegetarian husband will eat them), and there are great tips for ways to increase healthy foods for kids. The author points out ways to make certain recipes more palatable for picky eaters as well and often shows alternatives for vegan vs vegetarian options. The non-tuna casserole, seitan stew, and cinnamon bread are among our favorites, but I've made dozens of the recipes in this book and most have been really satisfying. Great lunch ideas for kids. In general I have had less success with the baked goods (in contrast to another reviewer) and have found the muffins and breads to often be bland and dry; I use other cookbooks for those now. All around, a very practical day-to-day cookbook, one of my staples, and a great cookbook for people with kids.
