Great Book for ALL Ages,
This review is from: Poppy the Proud (Bird Brain Books Book 3) (Kindle Edition)
This book is a treat for young and old alike. It will be a great read-aloud for your younger children, as well as a fun read for you. As a Grandma, reading it by myself today, I could not stop smiling and shaking my head in the affirmative as I read.
Poppy struts around with an air of entitlement, knowing he is the most beautiful peacock. Then, he is joined in the garden by Snow, a graceful, all-white peacock, who is also kind and friendly. Poppy shows great focus and determination as he tries various ways to have all the attention once again for himself. I do not want to say any more about the story line. I would much rather you read and enjoy the book for yourself.
This is an engaging story, with delightful illustrations, and valuable life lessons. Emlyn Chand is a very gifted writer who is able, in this book, to share knowledge of the Indian culture and teach us all some life lessons while delightfully entertaining young and old.
If you are a reader who does not typically read the Dedication in a book, please do yourself a favor and read this one. This is not your usual dedication to parents, friends, significant others, and editors. Again, I do not want to give it away, but let me say that I can hear the children's voices and picture their actions. That is how well written this Dedication is!
