1.0 out of 5 stars Not helpful for healing, December 13, 2012
This review is from: Emotional Vampires: Dealing with People Who Drain You Dry, Revised and Expanded 2nd Edition (Paperback)
The subject matter is one that if you have gone through the amount of energy leakage and wounds and scars no one would dare laugh about. Yes, there will be moments of humor that comes in at times yet mostly you will be simply trying to recuperate from having been sucked and drained and lied to and deceived and manipulated and betrayed in the worst possible ways.

There are honest books about the disordered characters out there, the personalities running rampants of Jekyll and Hyde. Please do yourself a favor, find honest books not those that would tell you it's good at times to meet those personalities because it takes an incredible amount of time, resources and effort to heal yourself after having come off agains those creatures. It takes a winner attitude in order to heal and with this the possibility to become better than we ever thought we could be.

It is part of life that we have many experiences so I am not complaining because it is a universal fact that we come off against certain things nonetheless it's not always necessary, become aware and protect yourself, your best defense is awareness and the best cure is prevention for I tell you it's a whole range of suffering on a deeply psychological level that you never thought possible.

Kiss them goodbye as soon as they say hi, no frog alert they do not turn into prince, neither did the beast turned into a prince.

This is book is not for HEALING. This book is for recognizing emotional vampires, and DEALING with them if you decide to keep them in your life.

Life Is Good says:
In other words, healing if it's not the point then I don't see the point of the book. If you read it correctly it said it's even good because of the thrills of it all. Besides the fact that you cannot always avoid those types they are everywhere, even at work you have to manage them well otherwise. You have to heal and also learn how to avoid them it's not always easy to identify them. So yes the purpose of the book fails, there are plenty of books on the subject of recognizing those vicious creatures and this book does not do it it glamorizes them even more... Please I am rolling my eyes...
