Disappointed with this monitor,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lorex LW2004 Video Baby Monitor with 2.4-inch LCD and Automatic Night Vision (Baby Product)
I jumped on the deal to get this monitor at half of the listed price through the gold box offer. Most of the earlier reviews praising the monitor were through Amazon Vine members. While the unit is sleek and easy to set up, it feels hollow, light and plastic(cheap). The ball camera mount is awkward and the monitor stand/clip feels crude and chintzy. Audio came across fairly clear but had some distortions, sounding tinny and synthetic. I would rate the image quality to be very good in both day and night vision mode. The camera automatically shifts into grayscale night mode when low light is detected. Unfortunately the unit that I received appeared to be defective and the camera rhythmically flickered between day and night images in low light. Resetting the camera did not fix the problem. Navigating the limited control options relies on the combination of touch controls on the monitor and the center buttons. There is no camera control other than being able to use the intercom feature. Overall, it's fairly easy to operate if you are just using one camera. Had this monitor worked, even at the discounted price, I do not feel that it was worth the money. I'm returning the unit to Amazon and back to square one on the monitor shopping.
Don't be fooled by the savings off the MSRP retail price, you don't get much of a discount because this thing pretty much sells at ~$100.
Update: We went with the Motorola 3.5" video monitor and even thought it was twice the price of this unit, it's performs so well that I have no regrets about the extra cost.
