Stanley ain't like the "Old Days".........,
This review is from: Stanley 2.0Qt Classic Vacuum Bottle (Sports)
I've got several older 1-quart bottles that work great; however, I am VERY disappointed with the new 2 quart bottle that I just purchased. I have pre-filled with boiling water and the thing still won't keep coffee hot more than 3 hours, even in moderate temperatures. It is literally luke-warm in 3 hours! So, you may ask, what about that "famous" Stanley Lifetime Guarantee? Good luck.....they won't even return my E-mails. I don't know what happened to this once great company, but I will never buy another Stanley Thermos (except maybe an older one). I haven't looked into it, but I would suspect that their products are no longer "American Made" if you know what I mean. Anyone want to buy a cheap thermos? Mine will be on E-bay......I'm buying a Nissan Vacuum Bottle.

The new Stanley 2 quart bottles are made in China. The quality isn't near the same as the good ole American made Stanley's that were made in Nashville, Tenn. I'm sure glad that I still have my Nashville Stanley Thermos that I bought back in 1976.

Purchased the Stanley 2.0Qt Classic Vacuum Bottle and had Stanley replace an older 1qt. The new Stanley's are cheap; not made to specifications as older ones; don't keep liquids hot for longer than 2 hrs.
Wouldn't spend money on another Stanley until they re-engineer the bottle back to original specs.

Couldn't agree more! I got rid of mine in favor of a Zorjirushi vacuum bottle. The Stanley I had kept my coffee hot for about 2 hours. It was warm or near room temp in about 3 hours. I knew something was wrong with the Stanley when the outside grew warm to the touch after putting liquid in it. A good vacuum bottle won't do that! The new Zojirushi I have stays cool to the touch on the outside and keeps things hot like I expect.

Stanley (Aladdin Industries) closed their USA plant in Tennessee in 2002. They are now foreign owned, and foreign made. It's Stanley in name only.

Not sure of all the bad press here.... I purchased a 2qt. 15 years ago at Walmart... for whatever reason it stopped keeping coffee hot for more than an hour or so.... anyway... I forgot about it until I read somewhere that they had a lifetime warranty... so... I wrote them an email, which they answered in 24 hours... asked that i take a picture of the base of the thermos... I did, sent it in with an explanation... they approved my request for a new thermos, said it would ship in about 14 days... I got it in 5... washed it and filled it with hot coffee this afternoon at 1:30pm... at 6:30pm.... 5 hours later... I poured about the 5th. or 6th. cup... still extremely hot... so maybe I got a good one... not sure, but I am satisfied with the service, the warranty and the product... guess I was lucky... ???
