Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Winware Stainless Steel Dough Scrapers (Kitchen)
I bought this dough scraper for use with making bread. However I now also use it to slice foods and to scoop the contents from the cutting board into a pan for cooking. I also use it to sweep crumbs off the counter or table. It is hard plastic and stainless steel so it will outlast me. It is cheap enough to buy even if you are not sure you would use it often.

This dough scraper was ground flat as it arrived, but if it weren't it would be easy to grind it flat and sharpen it if desired. I chose this model due to combination of low cost and simple design. If I lost it I would buy another one.

Thanks so much for this review! I was about to order it until I read that it "is hard plastic and stainless steel.." I am looking for stainless steel in order to avoid plastic. Thanks again.

For one thing, there are several variations of this product available. One variation has a stainless steel handle instead of a plastic one. A third variation has a wooden handle. Those are both good ways to avoid plastic if you want or need to. Also, the plastic in this product is in the handle, not in any part that touches the food. If you're concerned about BPA or other contaminants, you shouldn't worry, as the plastic parts of this product should never touch your food.
