5.0 out of 5 stars The Best!, June 14, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Tumi T-Tech Presidio Park International Business Carry-On (Apparel)
This is actually my second Tumi, exact same model as well. It's the best hand-carry of all-full stop. It fits perfectly in the overhead in First class or business class. It's sleek, functional, light-weight and easy to deal with whilst what is now full body security check with TSA. I took this bag to Europe as well and I was able to fit everything I needed in the event the airline lost my checked baggage. Yes, it also fits in the over-head internationally, which, for me is huge. Almost all carry-on bags state "will fit in overhead or under the seat in front." This is not at all the case. The only proper bag with conforms with airline requirments is Tumi. Although airline personal at the gate love to challenge this fact, they simply can't. It fits! I did remove the snazzy lock that comes with the bag as I didn't want to give TSA the joy/thrill of cutting it off. This bag is a must have and Amazon is the best place to make this purchase.

How did your first bag fair? Seeing as you bought a second, I was just curious what happened to the first.

Nothing happened to my first bag product wise. It is still in perfect condintion. However, when going through security check at LAX airport a passengers bag was stuffed so full it burst open on the security belt and sprayed awful smelling perfume all over my bag. I can't stand the smell of cheap perfume. I didn't want my items smelling of this awful odor. I was able to air out the bag, however, I didn't want to take the chance of using the bag until the smell was out! The bag did air out just fine. Hence, I now have two. Also, I noticed a comment about the lock that comes with the bag-this is no problem to remove. This really is the best bag I've ever owned. It's light-weight, fits in the over-head, on ALL aircrafts and perfect size for international or domestic travel.

If you read some of the other Tumi Carry On posts (Tumi Alpha Frequent Traveler 22 inch Carry On) you will find that some of the Tumi bags DO NOT conform to the overhead bin challenge on many airlines: 'Alpha 22922 based on its advertised dimensions of 22" x 14" x 9" and was surprised to discover that the length actually measures 23-1/2". This puts it over the published limits of most domestic airlines and puts you at the mercy of the flight crews.' Do you work for Tumi or something? I see you only have done two reviews.

No, I do not work for Tumi. I have never had a problem with flight crews on any airline, domestic or international. I fly in first class, so perhaps flight crews aren't interested in giving me a difficult time. Also, I think at times it depends on the airline and crew, if they feel like pulling a power trip, and feel the need to justifiy their position, then one is at their mercy. Regarding the number of reviews I've posted, well, I just don't have time to write about every purchase I've made over the years. Actually, I didn't/don't think many people do have time to ramble on about what they like and don't like.
