An Okay read with too many questions for my taste,
This review is from: Paradox - The Angels Are Here (Paperback)

I don't often read Adult books, its not that I don't like the genre I just seem to prefer YA. I decided to read Paradox: The Angels Are Here when I talked to the author and was intrigued by the synopsis. It is only a little over a 100 pages so I thought it would be a quick novella, unfortunately it left me feeling confused and asking more questions then I had answers for.
Paradox: The Angels are here begins in the far away past with two families the Grigorians and the Bulguardians that are in a war. Abbadon the second in command for the Grigorians sends his sister Thieria down to Earth to find someone. (I assume Grace).
The story then jumps to the life of a little girl Grace who loses her father in an accident. Grace has flashbacks to her former lives, and an "imaginary" friend who looks out for her. This part of the book left me with a ton of questions like who is Grace? Why is she important? What is her relation to the ancient war? And none of these questions were answered which is why I gave the book only 2 stars. I don't like to be led on only to left hanging.
In general though the writing in Paradox is phenomenal I related to each of the characters in the novel and all of them had separate and distinct personalities. The descriptions were all very lush and vivid and I enjoyed the interaction between the characters. The flashbacks were also very well written and I wish they had been the focus of the book rather then Grace's daily life.
Overall it was a good read, but there were just too many questions left answered for me to truly enjoy the read. I will be picking up the next book because the writing is really well done and I am curious as to what happens next, and bonus Grace is an adult in the next book so hopefully I will relate to her character more.
(I received an ebook copy of this book from the author for review purposes)
