Corinne S. says:
These kinds of conversion lenses are only intended to be used at the zoomed in view, not to provide the full range of wide angle to telephoto. It's basically a magnifying glass on your camera, which is why you get the rounded edges when you zoom back out. There may be a software setting on your camera to tell it you're using a telephoto and then it won't let you zoom out past the point where it's intended to be used. Personally I hate these kinds of conversion lenses--I bought one for a still camera I had without realizing the implications and I returned it as soon as I realized how it really worked.
