Very disappointed, Sorel!,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sorel Cub Winter Boot (Toddler/Little Kid) (Apparel)
I researched toddler boots, read all the reviews on Amazon, and chose these Sorel boots, trusting Sorel's good name. Our daughter wore them outside for the first time in about 3 inches of snow today (about 25 F degrees outside in northern Massachusetts). She was outside for 15 minutes and when I took her boots off when she came in, her feet were quite cold. What is the problem with these boots? One guess: the felt liner inside is not thick enough to stop the cold that is being conducted by the thick rubber outside of the boots, which actually seems to bring the cold INSIDE the boot. The rubber on the outside (very visible in the photos) is important for the waterproofing and good grip, but it seems to make the inside of the boot very cold-- just a guess. There should be an additional barrier between the felt liners and the outside of the boots. I am very disappointed by this purchase-- either I have been sent a defective boot (in that it does not even come close to the -25 F rating on the tag attached to the boot) or there is a problem with this particular boot overall that is not being noticed by others.

I thought I would add Sorel's entirely unhelpful response about their rating, which I frankly don't understand-- can anyone interpret?
"Thank you for contacting us. I am sorry the boots do not perform to your expectations. The rating is not a comfort rating. This rating is a protective rating against the cold. The rubber on the boot does act as additional insulation against the cold."
