This movie, yes is a little creepy. It has a moral, which is the point. The grass is always greener on the other side. The moral is the grass is not always greener and things are not always what they seem. I watched this with our 12 year old daughter. She was fine with it. Not sure that a child of 10 or younger would understand it. We love this movie. The person who commented about the 3D effects is wrong. They must have watched that non Blu-Ray 3D, with the paper glasses. This is the version for 3D TV's and Blu-Ray players.

Even the previous Blu-Ray version used the cardboard glasses with colored lenses, which are very lame -- the other reviewer could have watched that. I've been wondering if they'd release a "real" 3D version. The "Making Of..." documentary shows that they went to great pains to get the 3D effects right, without going overboard.

Unfortunately Amazon's review system shows this review on all Coraline blu-ray so the comment about "real 3D" is unreliable - I purchased the Coraline Blu-Ray gift set on the strength of this review but it turns out it's still anaglyphic 3D (i.e., color filters in cardboard glasses, not full 3D that's compatible with active shutter 3DTV/glasses combinations.)
This is not the fault of the reviewer, of course, but a problem with Amazon's data management.
