I have never heard of New England hot dog buns until I saw this pan on Amazon. I thought it was a little pricey for a bread pan but I had to try it after reading about this type of bun. I'm from the south so I have never heard of New England style buns. When the pan arrived I could tell it is a quality heavy pan. I made my dough in a bread machine using a recipe I found for the New England hot dog buns. As another reviewer said don't try to form rolls and put in the pan . Roll the dough out about the size of the pan and let it rise. When you bake the rolls put a greased cookie sheet on top of the pan and weight it down with something heavy like a cast iron skillet . This keeps the bread from rising higher than the pan and keeps it flat. When the bread cools you can slice it into 10 buns. I think these buns would also make great french toast sticks or garlic bread sticks. I can see this is a pan I will use often and glad I got it.
