Great little camera,
This review is from: Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W560 14.1 MP Digital Still Camera with Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 4x Wide-Angle Optical Zoom Lens and 3.0-inch LCD (Black) (Camera)
I just purchased this camera in red. Cosmetically, it is very nice looking and compact. I wanted a new camera and am fed up with Kodak - my most recent EasyShare lasted me 2 years before freezing and turning subjects into Casper the friendly ghost, so I decided Kodak quality isn't what it used to be. Whenever I think quality electronics, I immediately think Sony, so why not for cameras? I am not disappointed in my choice. The biggest reason I love this camera is that it takes quick shots. My 16 month old son does NOT like to pose or sit still, so if I want to capture the cute things he does, I need a quick response between pushing the shutter and actually catching the image on the camera. This camera impresses me on that front. I am not a techie, but as a simple needs kinda photographer, I say this is a winner!

I'll have to disagree on most fronts. I purchased this camera after my 3-yr old compact Canon point-and-shoot got its lens mechanism jammed. I decided to give Sony a shot exactly for the reason mentioned here: Brand reputation and good reviews. Compared to my old Canon, pictures are not as sharp, shutter lag is huge and very annoying. Quite often auto scene selection mechanism chooses a wrong setting and ruins the picture with blurry and/or overexposed, underexposed shots. The results are especially bad with cloudy outdoor scenes. Video capture often loses focus while shooting. My conclusion is Sony might be better than Kodak, but a lot worse than Canon in digital cameras.
