5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read that only scratches the surface, January 10, 2013
This review is from: Bullies: How the Left's Culture of Fear and Intimidation Silences Americans (Hardcover)
What better illustrates the veracity and the need for this book better than the "Amazon Bomb" campaign the left has decreed against this book (witness all the curious 1-star ratings)? Finally, in one volume, Shapiro debunks the narrative that the conservatives are the "haters" and the mean people. This work methodically lists and documents all the ways liberals truly bully everyone who gets in their way. In fact, an entire book could be written on each chapter. There is no tolerance, no consensus, no bargaining - it's their way or the highway. Kudos to Shapiro for pulling this material together and speaking the truth.

You know you're hitting close to home when the Amazon Bomb brigade rears its ugly head

BRAVO I just got this on Kindle. If only the GOP wasn't riddled with cowards like John Boehner.

Here is another perfect example (R. Mcfadden) of the left attempting to bully conservatives by attacking their freedom of speech!

Of course not. Defeats hurt, but this one hurt especially. As the most liberal, least experienced and least talented executive on the national scene, Obama has proven disastrous for our nation. All he knows how to do is activate mobs and march them somewhere. Once they arrive, no one knows how to do anything. And, to your point, we did LOSE the election. Obama didn't win it. His party saw the first decline of democratic voter turnout in 32 years - 10 million less than '08. Even his own people ran away from him. Unfortunately, we didn't field a candidate who could outdraw McCain. It sucks to lose, especially to a loser.

He won by unfairly demonizing Romney. That's all he had.

Young man, I have told you this before. Let's say, arguendo, that "the left" is trying to silence fine patriots such as yourself. It nevertheless remains a FACT that "the left" cannot abridge your freedom of speech, which only the government can do.

Now, if you merely wish to maintain that "the left" is intimidating you into silence, well, I say grow a pair! Are you men or are you mice?!

LOL God, I do get a charge out of whiny rightwingers clinging frantically to victimhood.

It is all well and good to say to people on the right to show some courage. Those on the left are supported. Those on the right are attacked by the media, the education establishment, and hollywood. It takes far more courage to come out on the right, especially if you are running for office. YES I HAVE CONTEMPT for republican cowards. I have contempt for petend conservatives with no principles. I am aware that our founders took far greater risks than anyone can conceive of.

Andy says:
From Shapiro: "..If you take a look at what Media Matters, the David Brock organization has been doing for years, what they do there is they sit there at the behest of the government, at the behest of the White House, they have weekly meetings with the White House and Media Matters sits there and monitor programs like yours and they wait there to hear you say something, take out of context and use it to launch boycotts against the advertisers, trying to destroy advertisers' business based on false constructions than what people like you say. And that's specifically designed to get you to shut up. That's what they want to do. There are two goals and one of two things have to happen: You either voluntarily stop talking which isn't going to happen or they try and shut you up. These are not pro First Amendment people, these are not pro speech people. These are not pro civility people. They are not civil. We have to stop treating them as if civility is going to win the day."
