This review is from: Body Confidence: Venice Nutrition’s 3-Step System That Unlocks Your Body’s Full Potential (Hardcover)
Being a Fitness and Nutrition Professional, I get asked but clients all the time "what is the best diet?" You can go into any bookstore or online and find hundreds of different diet books, dvds, and programs.
I see two major problems with 99% of the diet programs out there 1) They help you lose weight but don't focus on maintaining muscle mass or stabablizing blood sugar so you virtually ALWAYS gain the weight back and feel like crap on the diet 2) They are based on doing something extreme that you will never be able to continue for life
The Venice Nutrition Program is science based and focuses on creating balance in the body so that your body can maximize fat-burning and muscle building/toning while maintaining consistent energy levels throughout the day. Best of all, the Venice program is NOT a diet, it is a way of eating that anyone can follow and get results and can continue eating a wide variety of foods for life.
I knew that the book Body Confidence would not disapoint and it definitely has not! Body Confidence shows you step by step how to create the body you have always wanted and feel great at the same time.
Bravo to Mark MacDonald for taking a stand and telling the truth about what is takes for safe effective permanent fat loss and a lifetime of healthy living.
If people will listen, I believe this book can help revolutionize how we think about exercise and food as a society.

I agree 100% with this review, from personal experience using the Venice Nutrition program since July 2010. In the first 12 weeks I lost 33 lbs, now at about 48 lbs and gaining muscle tone. Best of all, I have never been hungry or has it felt like any other diet I've tried. It is a truly a program you can fit into your lifestyle - permanently!

It is very odd that 24 people have all written 5 star reviews all on the same 2-3 days, and these people have not written any other reviews of any book on Amazon. Not to mention, diets are very person-specific and always have dissatisfied people.

All I can say is the reviews are real and we have a passionate community that started in 1999. I also agree that programs are definitely person-specific. The thing is Venice is not a "diet" it is more a lifestyle and an education on how to make your body work for you. I invite you to experience the program, it is really the only way to understand why so many people speak with such passion about Venice Nutrition and our book Body Confidence. Good luck with your health and whatever program you do, have fun with it! Big Hug, Mark

Mark, thanks for replying. I've always viewed Chelsea (the reason I ended up here) as a very straightforward person (hard not to) and it's hard to believe she'd be involved with you if you were the type who intended to scam people in any way. It's just that a series of negative things over the years (from the infamous "million little pieces" scandal with Oprah, of all people to fake reviews on dozens of sites like Yelp) - can make a person skeptical. Amazon should take the responsibility to put in a filter, like yelp does, to figure out real from fake. The comment was not meant to question your diet / food advice at all. From what I understand, it seems sound. I do know authors whose publishers have people do this sort of thing (sometimes without their knowledge) & manage their online reputations in other ways. Unfortunately, with a skeptical crowd (hello internet), it can do more harm than good...and it is even more sad if they are genuine & the accusations are unfair. There's a big bookstore near me (that is still in business) so I will check it out.

Thanks for sharing A. I agree with you 100 percent. I guess that is why I was so taken back from people questioning our reviewers. I created Venice and wrote Body Confidence to provide people with a sustainable and common sense health program. My mission has always been education, I believe if you educate people on how their body works and then what to do to make their body work for them, they get the best of both worlds, looking and feeling their very best. That is what body confidence means to me. My self and our community have fought the dieting world and the all the hype since 1999. Which is why Chelsea loves the program, it truly changed her life and showed her there was a better way than dieting. When you check out the book, I suggest reading the introduction, my story will give the best picture of who I am. I agree with you that because of all the false promises made by our broken health industry that now everyone has to be cautious about what they invest their time in. That review qualifier idea would be fantastic for Amazon to take on. I am here to always help so please feel free to reach out to me anytime, my email is email@example.com. Thanks A , really appreciate you taking the time to make a post. Big Hug, Mark
