4.0 out of 5 stars Great sound with Nice Features, July 23, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: PYLE-PRO PPHP1299AI - 12-Inch 1,000-Watt Powered 2-Way Full Range Loud Speaker System w/Built in MP3 /USB & Ipod Dock (Electronics)
Bought this to pump music at an outdoor location. Features that work well: iPod dock, RCA line-in, line out. Not so much: MP3 player. The USB connection allows you to connect a flash drive, but it plays the songs serially. There appears to be no ability to move through the different directories where artists and albums are stored. The two band equalizer works well. The documentation is almost non-existent, but not sure much more is required.

How loud does it go? Idea for possibly tailgating outdoor event?

Yes, you could very easily squelch every other source with this speaker. Don't forget, it requires AC power; I have seen battery powered loud speakers, but I am not sure how long they last.

Ok thank you, yeah I'll use a generator to power it for the games. Just wanted to make sure it would be plenty loud for that outdoor event. Plus with those MIC inputs it will be fun to talk over it and even have it as an external speaker source for the TV setup. Thank you again for responding so quickly.

DON'T BUY THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOOSE YOU MONEY. I BUY 3 WITH PROBLEM, SEND THE LAST ONE FOR REPAIR AND I'M STILL AWAITING. NOW NOBODY IS ANSWERING MY EMAILS AND CALLS. IF I GET THE REPAIR ONE, I WILL UPDATE IF THE ITEM IS GOOD OR NOT. AS FAR, DON'T SPEND YOU MONEY ON THIS.

It plays with ipod touch and iphone 4 but doesn't CHARGE them. Also, it can work with the iphone 5 via R/W RCA to 3.5mm cable.
