Not perfect but well worth the money / Not collectable however,
This review is from: The Beatles Stereo Vinyl Box Set (Vinyl)
If your buying to listen to and enjoy, fine. Book is fantastic, just awesome. If you are buying as a collector to keep in a corner and sell one day, forget it. Many quality problems on manufacturing process on individual albums. Off center spins, strings of pearls and inconsistent surface noise to name just a few imperfections. Rarely find an MFSL with a problem ever. As a collector I would not purchase a sealed set of this boxset in the future from someone, say on ebay. Unlike MFSL boxsets of past and orig pressings etc., the chances of problems with the new pressing seems rather high. Many are being returned and replacements are being sent which also have problems. The US pressing plant was terrible and no need to mention their name here. This is a perfect example of going with the lowest bidder and getting sub par product. Shame all this work was done at abbey road etc and the final step, the pressing, was flawed. If you buy the box set don't tuck it away as a collectable unopened with plans to sell. Long term this will surely become known to audiophiles as the boxset with problems and sealed resales will not be desired. Open every one and check them and you must listen to them. 3 albums in mine have to be replaced do to ubearable surface noise and pearls in the vinyl. CAUSE of this is simple. Poor quality control. That being said, music is great of course and those without flaws sound pretty good. Likely would sound even better with a higher quality pressing...
