5.0 out of 5 stars Love the extra details, April 15, 2009
This review is from: Progressive GT-3520 International 19-Piece Measuring Cup and Spoon Set (Discontinued by Manufacturer) (Kitchen)
My last set of measuring cups had sadly dwindled down to 3 different sizes. It was getting difficult to measure 1/3 of a cup out of a 1/4 cup measuring cup. I found this set in my search, and it seemed interesting that it seemed to have a variety of sizes. Ah-ha! For someone whose sets seem to disapear with the socks and tupperware lids, it seemed great. (My personal theory is that aliens need these items to power their space ships :). These cups are sturdy, 'nest' well, and stay that way. No spilling all over the cupboard because they were touched. And the number of sizes makes recipies easy! Having just 2 people to feed in our home means reducing recipies, and this set has sizes that will actually allow us to measure odd amounts.

Very cute description made it fun to read. Love the detail! I can actually visualize using these.

Am I seeing this right? Are the different sizes different colors? My MIL has lost her sight to the point that reading the markings on her measuring cups and spoons is now beyond her ability. However, she still participates in cooking. Different color measuring cups and spoons would be a huge help for her.

I agree with you about the aliens. They also need one sock and several ball point pens. And cheap sunglasses.

Hi Carl,

My set arrived yesterday, and the different sizes are alternately colored in either red, white, or gray. I won't speak for your mother-in-law, but the color scheme allows me to spot the difference between close sizes.

@Carl Murphy: Surely you've found a set of cups by now, but just in case others are still searching... Curious Chefs is a line of cookware designed for kids that's actually good equipment, not cheapy. Their measuring cups & spoons are color coded: each one has a different colored handle along with large, contrasting numbers. Just type the name into Amazon's search.

That must be where all my spoons went! Every time I eat cereal, I have to wash a spoon first, we have about 3 left.

Your review was too cute! I bought these too...a while ago...(on Amazon, too) and left a good review, too. I use mine all the time and they're still great. So far, no broken pieces yet...and I'm NOT always so very gentle when I'm baking. Things can go flying around my kitchen. ;) I love the 3 colors. Too bad the gray wasn't navy blue... red, white and blue would be pretty, too...very patriotic. Anyway....happy cooking/baking!
