Great guide for Cost / Managerial Accountants
This book is great for Cost / Managerial Accountants as well as new comers to the field of cost accounting. I read this book as part of MBA curriculum and loved every bit, even though I do not have an accounting background.

Managerial Accounting, 9th edition, March 20, 2001
This is an outstanding book, which covers complex topics on a very friendly manner. Maybe for some readers this book may seem hard to understand, so I strongly recommend everybody to think over the necessity of studying managerial accounting. For me as a person who works with internal finance and who makes prompt decisions upon raw timely data, the book was a relief. It covers such immensely important topics as break-even, leverage, cost behavior and structure, and so forth. One suggestion, do not learn everything by heart, it's useless. You never learn everything in managerial accounting. Use the book as a reference for your everyday needs. Good luck.

good accounting book, June 12, 2003
By A Customer
not a big fan of accounting, but i must admit, this is a really good textbook. anytime i got lost in my classes or lecture, this book explains things in a very clear and organized way to help you better understand. the problems are long but extremely helpful in getting a handle on the methods. the real world examples they use in the text also adds to whatever concept you're learning. i couldn't imagine a better managerial accounting book at the moment. so 5 stars. yup. i'm so glad i'm done with this course...

Simply The Best Managerial Accounting Text, May 31, 1999
By A Customer
A practitioner and a user for more than 30 years, I am convinced that Garrison's Managerial Accounting Text is the most useful and the most readable managerial accounting text on the market. Students rate this the easiest text to read and understand, empirical tests indicate that the text is a good read at the college sophomore level. The illustrations are careful and attractive. Also available are excellent videos which make many parts of the text come to life. No question this text is the all round managerial accounting winner.

Found a better Book!, January 22, 2001
Though this book does cover most of the managerial accounting concepts, there is a better representation in the cooperative work of Garrison and Norren in the Managerial Accounting book 9th edition. That book also includes a CD tutorial, a great review tool that includes multiple choice, true-false, journal entry and glossary review questions. All questions are different than those in the text references are given for correct and incorrect answers.

Excellent Book on Accounting for Non Finance guys, September 26, 2005
I am a non-finance person, but we need the finance numbers to make decisions in personal and professional life. This is an excellent book for my kind, to the point, plenty of examples, and simple to understand. Two Thumbs Way Up.

Great text book, February 2, 2006
This review is from: Managerial Accounting (11th Edition) (Hardcover)
Overall, this is actually a very well organized and highlighted textbook, the pages are easy to read and the charts and examples are very straightforward. Emphasis is placed in the right places. The bad thing is that the textbook does not supply answers to any of the exercises or problems which really doesn't help, but hopefully your teacher will compensate for that. I still think it's a little verbose and repetitive in the text at times, but otherwise, the chapters deliver good understanding and are very clear. I highly recommend this edition.

Good explanation and exercises, April 11, 2001
Now, this book is really good in explaining accounting concepts. My instructor used this book in teaching. The online notes provided to instructor is really good. I missed several lectures because of my illness, so I had to do some catch up by reading this book myself. The exercises provided in the book increase my analytical thinking. I was able to answer my exam paper with flying colours because of this book. The drawback for this book is only there's not much graphics or pictures to make reading easy.

Concise and Easy to Understand, February 5, 2006
This review is from: Managerial Accounting (11th Edition) (Hardcover)
This book is required for MBA Managerial Accounting, and is also used in undergraduate classes. The topic chapters are well organized and use good examples to explain. This is one of the predominate and most popular books to teach this subject. It does go into detail about T accounts more than is required for my class, although the depth is not too esoteric. With that, I close in stating that the international edition is the same and is much cheaper. Even though stores won't by back Intl Editions, you can save more (and on the front end) than will be refunded at buyback at the end of semester.
