This book was bought for one of my grandchildren's mother because she was having a hard time with one of her young boys. It helped me understand why she was having so much trouble, and she like it also.

After almost 40 years, this '70's tome is STILL the best guide to parenting out there. If you're expecting a child or if you know someone who is, do yourself and/or your friend a favor. Get this book.

This book was recommended to me by my Aunt. She raised two wonderful kids, my cousins, who are about 10 years younger than I am and I am truly amazed at their personalities and self-confidence! Reading this book has changed my view on how I want to raise my kids. I have already gifted 2 copies to two of my friends.

This is the best book ever! It is a book adults can use not just to learn on how to work with children, but how also, to work with other adults. I have given speeches using this book as a guide and have given it to clients and new parents as a gift. Well worth the money spent and more!

Easily the most important book I read after my first child was born. Based in neuroscience and behavioral analysis, Dr Briggs identifies the two most critical attributes of good parenting: unconditional love and focused attention. For any parent or person who wants the best for a child, this is a marvelous resource.

The makings of self-esteem, the affects people and experiences and genetics have on self-esteem. If you are a parent and you love your child, get this. If you are a parent and you don't love your child, GET THIS. Get it, period.
We love our kids, we do the best job we can, but without proper education and knowledge there may be things that we can do that we aren't aware of. This book educates and raises awareness. It gives us insight into others, ourselves even. I bought this book because I was concerned with my children's self esteem but ended up discovering why my husband is the way he is.
There's so many positive things I can say about this and so much I want to share with you but the best thing to do is to purchase it and DEVOUR.
