A Unique, Superb Study of Job, March 5, 2007
Just recently I finished teaching through the book of Job in an adult class at church. I had Ray Stedman's sermon notes to refer to, but I also studied a dozen other commentators in preparing to teach my class. In his practical advice and penetrating insights I found Ray Stedman to be head and shoulders above the other commentaries I had in my library (or had purchased recently). Ray can not hide his deep, personal faith. His pastoral compassion toward his readers is evident. In teaching one book of the Bible, it is obvious that Ray takes into account the whole Bible and its complete message to mankind. Stedman's writing style is easy to follow even when the subject material is profound. Jim Denney's excellent editing of these sermons on Job makes this a book I will give to a good many friends--and a book I highly recommend to anyone.

Let God Be God, August 28, 2007
This is an outstanding commentary on the book of Job. Very readable and most encouraging to those of us who are suffering from what we think are very difficult situations/people. I learned a lot about how to comfort those who have lost loved ones, and believe it or not, I was encouraged by Stedman's explanation of why bad things happen to good people. This book was a great blessing to me.

Why, Why, Why? ...and the answer is:, July 18, 2008
This book changed my outlook, and thereby my life. It answered many questions I had as to why a good God allows terrible things to happen, and the real reason why He seems so far away when we need Him the most. I recommend this book to anyone, Christian "rookies" and "veterans" alike, who are genuinely interested in looking deeply into the nature and mind of our great God. He IS good, and He is God, and He is much bigger than the mental box I currently have constructed to house Him.

This is an excellent commentary book on the book of Job. It definitely gave me great insight on why bad things happen to good people, especially during a very difficult time in my life. It is very easy to read and you can definitely want to read it over and over again. I recommend this book to anyone. The book has been a true blessing for my life and I hope I can bless others with what I have learned from this great book of the Bible!
