5.0 out of 5 stars Not your standard high school poetry book, June 6, 2002
By Gene Smith (Aloha, Oregon USA) - See all my reviews
When a friend gave me this book I silently rolled my eyes, remembering the rhyming verse I had be forced to endure in English classes; or worse yet the stuff that didn't rhyme.

Honestly this book is just captivating. Inside is a collection of tales that go to the heart of life, from the seemingly mundane to the extraordinary.

What impressed me most was the multilayered depth I found in each short (Almost always less than two pages) tale, not only by what was said but by the oftimes more profound given between it's well written lines. I've taken to reading just one short tale in the morning; carrying it with me throughout my day to ponder and amuse.

This sure ain't the book of poetry I was expecting.

Gene Smith

5.0 out of 5 stars The Real Fall of Man, June 2, 2002
By Kevin Pirolo (Holly Springs, MS United States) - See all my reviews
"Naked, she trembled on the cliffs,.....And then, to their disbelief, she spread out her arms and lept, flying, after him."

The author is a wordsmith!

A varied collection of written prisms. I really enjoyed reading some of the selections many times, new, with each reading.

Thought provoking, fun, funny, a great addition to my collection.

Thank you for sharing.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Collection of Poems, November 4, 2001
By Jeannette M Jones (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
I very much enjoyed the variety of material contained in Fire & Mirth. Everyone will find poems included in this book that they can personally relate to emotionally, from experiences in their own lives.

I would recommend this book to anyone, even people who don't normally read poetry! I am sure even they will enjoy the depth and color of Kimberly Snow's poems.
