Watch out! Too sassy for some!
This book definitely ISN'T for alot of people. The sentiments are sometimes more than sassy; they're simply downright ugly. An example: Outside of card: "My deepest sympathies for the loss of your mother-in-law" Inside of card: "Lucky bitc*" (page 82).
As a matter of fact, there are SIX PAGES entitled "Surplus Sentiments" where the punchlines inside the...

Sassy, Inspiring and FUN!!, June 27, 2007
This review is from: Get Real Greetings: Creating Cards for Your Sassiest Sentiments (Paperback)
No more standing in line at Hallmark trying to find just the right card! You can make one yourself with this witty guide. Get Real Greetings is packed full of inspiring and clever card ideas for the REAL moments in life. Some suggested themes include cards for your friend who was just dumped, your mother entering menopause, your friends who just bought their first fixer-upper, a co-worker who got fired, your sister with raging PMS...all WITHOUT sugary sweet sentiments, butterflies, and sad puppy eyes. Get Real Greetings encourages us to use our own "voice" and humor to express our feelings with cards- even when that voice is sarcastic!
The quick tips for basic card making are easy to follow and the suggestions that go with each card are easy to incorporate into your own creations, whatever your own style is. The book offers many funny captions, which will inspire you to make your own unique cards, suited to your friendships.

Watch out! Too sassy for some!, October 28, 2008
This review is from: Get Real Greetings: Creating Cards for Your Sassiest Sentiments (Paperback)
This book definitely ISN'T for alot of people. The sentiments are sometimes more than sassy; they're simply downright ugly. An example: Outside of card: "My deepest sympathies for the loss of your mother-in-law" Inside of card: "Lucky bitc*" (page 82).
As a matter of fact, there are SIX PAGES entitled "Surplus Sentiments" where the punchlines inside the cards read "Lucky bitc*" "Stupid Bast****" and "Sucker!"
To be fair, not ALL the cards are that graphic, and some of them are even cute: "I heard you joined the gym" / "Maybe I'll join too so we can both not go" (page 96). Plus, the card designs are GREAT. I agree with another reviewer: know your target audience.

TOO FUNNY!, July 12, 2007
This review is from: Get Real Greetings: Creating Cards for Your Sassiest Sentiments (Paperback)
I just got this book, and I can't get enough of the sassy humor! The instructions for card designs are great, but the real catch is that the sample cards themselves are really clever and funny! Plus, there are pages of more "sassy sentiments" that you can incorporate into your own cards. I think the best thing about this book is that it shows you new ways to bond with (or make fun of) your girlfriends through homemade greeting cards. If you enjoy laughing with, or at, your girlfriends, this new book is a must-have!

not so good review for this book, August 6, 2009
This review is from: Get Real Greetings: Creating Cards for Your Sassiest Sentiments (Paperback)
I was disappointed in this book. It was just full of off-beat card ideas and kinda snotty ones too. I was hoping for some nice card ideas.

Well Pardon Me!, August 10, 2010
This review is from: Get Real Greetings: Creating Cards for Your Sassiest Sentiments (Paperback)
I guess I'm just not as PC as everyone else, but I thought this book was a hoot. Lots of good ideas and funny sentiments. I am only giving it 4 stars because there were a lot of greetings geared towards kid related stuff and all of the women in my world are way beyond that.

Get Real?, April 27, 2010
This review is from: Get Real Greetings: Creating Cards for Your Sassiest Sentiments (Paperback)
This is not a book I would recommend, Most of these greetings I would not send to my worst enemy less spend time creating a card for, I found one or three cute and sassy but most were trash.

Crassy, Sassy, maybe mean, April 21, 2010
This review is from: Get Real Greetings: Creating Cards for Your Sassiest Sentiments (Paperback)
Perhaps the book's subtitle should be "Creating Cards for Your [Crassest] Sentiments" Perhaps there are more people than you think with an off-beat sense of humor that would appreciate the humor and the attempt to "lighten up." No, there are many cards I wouldn't make myself; on the other hand there may be a card or two which would cause me to think, "I know X would have gotten a big laugh over this."
Don't totally write the book off because of it's sassiness. Just as in any type of crafting book the suggestions you see are mostly a jumping off place to express your own creativity. Of course I wouldn't use the word "b---h" to anyone, but I might be able to come up with a less offensive term instead, or it might even trigger a totally different card just because the sassy one you just read gave you an idea.
In the final analysis, no, I would not make mot of these cards for anyone I currently know; however, just being able to read through the book and share the contents with female family members triggered a lot of laughter and some "ooooh, mean!" and tongue-in-cheek comments like, "I know JUST who I would send that one to." The cards may not be ones you would actually make, but you know you wish you could. And to be honest, not all the cards are over-the-top sassy.

Sassiest & nasty sentiments, January 9, 2010
This review is from: Get Real Greetings: Creating Cards for Your Sassiest Sentiments (Paperback)
I thought that this book would be a fun way to make some new cards, but I felt that over half of the projects were rude & crude. I'm not a prude either.

Not for everyone, November 23, 2009
This review is from: Get Real Greetings: Creating Cards for Your Sassiest Sentiments (Paperback)
This book has some great card designs, but the sentiments are not for everyone. If you are upset by vulgarity or crude humor, this book is not for you.

Get Real Greetings, November 21, 2009
This review is from: Get Real Greetings: Creating Cards for Your Sassiest Sentiments (Paperback)
Prompt Shipping.
Product looked brand new.
The actual book definitely has the right title.
I definitely would not use any of the greeting that are suggested in the book, though. Some of them actually are pretty vulgar. There is a difference between sassy and mean.
This is no bearing on the seller. The seller was absolutely perfect.
