When I began assembly I found that it was missing several key parts.(blackboard,paper,and connecting rods).On my third day of trying, I was able to get through to Little Tikes. My 3 year old daughter received her Little Tikes Easel from her Grandmother as a birthday present. My daughter loves it. We purchased colored chalk and more paper and she couldn't have been happier. I found the assembly to be a snap. It took about 15 minutes to assemble. I am very pleased with how easy the clean up is. The trays are easy to remove and transport to the sink to wash out paint. My daughter has many Little Tikes products and they have never failed to live up to our high expectations.

I bought this easel for my then 15 month old for Christmas. She is now 22 months old and we play with it every day. It is really sturdy and easy to put together, and the crayon holder lifts off for easy cleaning. I haven't tried the chalk side yet but I am going to soon. This a great investment as it will grow with your child and the quality makes me think that this toy will be around for quite a few years. One word of advice is that it does take up quite a bit of room.

My son and daughter really enjoyed this easel. The removable trays make it easy for cleaning up. Getting paper has never been a problem. I just get 12x18" drawing or newsprint paper and fold and tear about 4-5 inches off the length. When my daughter was 1 yr. old until about 2 yrs. old I taped 12x18" paper horizontally since she couldn't reach as high. Both children could paint at the same time by taping one child's paper to the chalk board. The problem we had with it was that the posts that hold on the removable trays broke. Now I have to find out if the parts can be ordered from the company or make more out of wood. My son climbed on the tray to try to reach something and it broke, but as long as your child doesn't take things apart and climb on things the way my son does, it would be a good buy.

Sturdy, simple to assemble, easy to clean, and loads of fun. I couldn't say enough good things about this easel. I must have looked at every easel out there before buying this for our 2 1/2 year old for Christmas. I can't even imagine having to clean an easel without removable trays! But the trays pop right off/on this one so you can take any mess to the sink for easy clean up. I was worried that the plastic chalk board wouldn't work like a real chalk board, but it does. We use it to write the letter of the day on it every morning. If you are looking for the best easel, stop right here.

Everyone knows that easels are a great toy for children, they encourage creativity and give them a reason to turn off the tv... My son has this easel, and it is really nice, I just wish that when they constructed it they would have bothered to put holes in the wide trays so when water or paint is spilled in them, it can drain out. As it is, I have to invert the entire easel to drain the trays. (Yes, this is an outdoor toy.) The only other major drawback to this easel is that the pad of paper that is provided is quickly used up, and I don't know where to find replacement pads. My son (who is a young 4) loves to draw on the plastic chalkboard side with his sidewalk chalks, and enjoys painting when I can find paper to use with it. Assembly was not as easy as we'd hoped, my husband is a real Mr. Fix-it and this gave him a little trouble. It was also missing a small part. BUT all these things aside, I would reccomend this to a friend, and I think your child would have fun with it also.

This is an everlasting toy except one problem. Finding replacement paper has been next to impossible. Order extra paper if you can at the time of ordering.

This is one of the best purchases I have made in a while. The product is absolutely magnificent. From the outside packaging to the double easel inside your will find that this was money well spent. I have recently openend a home day-care and the children in my care love to use this. The best part is that it comes with most things you would need in order to make the easel fun. Such as chalk, brush and paper. Little Tikes has taken every step to child-proof their product. Most importantly it is very durable so you will have years of fun, excitement, and learning fun with your children. Little Tikes has done a wonderful job. A Great product at a more than reasonable price.

The point is that they made the error and it becomes my responsibility to prove it to them. I wonder how many people got up on Christmas morning and thought to scam Little Tikes out of an extra part for their easel. If I rate this product on use, it will be a negative number. This will be my last purchase of any Little Tikes product. My business goes to Step 2. If you stay with Tikes, check your boxes before you leave the store.

My 2 year old son received this for his birthday, and he loves it! It keeps him quiet & entertained for hours (anyone with a 2 year old will know this is not an easy task!). Assembly was a little tricky, the pad holder clip didn't fit too well, so the paper does fall off sometimes, but it still manages to do it's job. I would highly recommend this to anyone with a 2 or 3 year old who is just learing to explore the world of drawing & coloring, he or she will love it! Very sturdy & folds easily for storage.

My 2-1/2 year old daughter gets hours of enjoyment out of this easel. We just have it set up outside and she paints on one side and uses her extensive sidewalk chalk collection on the other side.
At the moment we're having a bit of trouble erasing the chalkboard well, but I'm not sure if that's because it's out in the sun right now. Most chalkboards seem to have this problem so I'm not too worried about it.
It seems as though replacement parts are fairly inexpensive so this should last through many children. I checked the Little Tikes site and you can get all of the replacement parts that people have mentioned for very reasonable prices (for example, the tray support bracket can be purchased for 50 cents.) Pads of paper are $3.00.
Overall we're very happy with this toy and it's very easy to clean up (just hose it off!)
