UNO Attack Fun BUT NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
I agree with the all of the previous viewers. I have had three different ones and I've had trouble with all of them. I believe the motor needs to be a heavy duty motor and there needs to be a way that you do not have to clean the belt every few hands. I have not been able to find new cards either. However, the game is fun and it would be nice if it could be improved...

Like game, but battery eater
We purchased this game at christmas time. The game is a lot of fun to play but it gobbles up the C batteries. It would be really nice if the toy maker would redesign this game so it could be played either with bateries or electronically.

I agree with the all of the previous viewers. I have had three different ones and I've had trouble with all of them. I believe the motor needs to be a heavy duty motor and there needs to be a way that you do not have to clean the belt every few hands. I have not been able to find new cards either. However, the game is fun and it would be nice if it could be improved to perform better. I do not understand how they can guarantee the product for two years when it won't work properly for 2 weeks. I suggest that if you have one that doesn't work, send it back because it does have a two year warranty. This is the only way they are going to find out that they need to improve it and replace the original ones.

I bought this game for Christmas for my 9 year old, but our family of six all quickly became addicted to it over the vacation. We've always liked playing UNO when the kids were younger, but as my kids have gotten older, of course, it's gotten boring. This version of the game appeals to everyone. Instead of drawing cards from the deck, you push a button on the card dispenser and get a random number of cards, anywhere from 0 to 10. (My fifteen year old did a statistical analysis of how many hits you are likely to make before getting cards, and how many cards are likely to come out, but I'll let you figure out your own strategy.) This random card firing means that you must use a different play strategy than the old UNO, a more complicated one. There are also new cards in the deck, such as "hit-fire" in which you must press the button until the machine fires some cards at you. There is also the nefarious "trade hands" card, so that when you think you about to get UNO, you might have to trade your hand with someone. All of this adds up to a much more challenging game. Even my fifteen year old likes to play UNO Attack, and sometimes when a group of them come over to just hang out, they get UNO Attack out. It's the randomness of the card machine that appeals to them. I haven't had the problems with my card dispenser that some other reviewers have. You do need to keep the cards clean and unbent, and put them carefully in the dispenser, and then we've found it works just fine.

We love this game! I reccomend this game for ALL ages. I do have a problem with the game... Due to the constant use, I have found the cards wear out easily, and I still haven't been able to find replacements for the game. I also have found the device which shoots out the cards needs much improvement. Over a short period of playtime, it spins however won't disperse the cards. I first thought it was the batteries and replaced them, but this was not the case. I have cleaned the device as reccommended by the manufacture but am still having problems. This could be very frustrating to children. We have only had this game since Christmas and already we are having trouble.

We have played the game since Christmas, But it only lasted one month before the cards were wore out. I have not seen any place to buy replacements, so the game is no longer usable.

This game is so much fun. My Son laughed so hard when the cards shot out that he had to catch his breath. We have not had any problems with this game - although still new. I highly recommend this game for all ages. We really enjoy it as a family. Best Uno Game So Far.

Our family always enjoys a good uno game. We bought this version and that day we had to open it and play. The anticipation of not knowing how many cards you will get is all of the fun. This makes uno especially fun for the younger children because they have an equal chance of winning. It is not only skill anymore, and it is hard to team up against someone. The last player could only have one card and then within seconds have 10. We highly recommend it.

We really love this game. However; we have had it now about 2 months and we play it quite often, it is one of our favorite games, but the cards wear out quickly due to the handling of the cards, plus the wheel getting dirty often really henders the fun of playing this game having to clean it every other hand.We are finding even when putting in fresh batteries and cleaning it we have problems with the cards being dispensed. Sometimes they shoot out a lot and sometimes they bunch up in the slot. I do hope that they find replacement cards soon for this game and that they find away to make the wheel turn better.

A new twist on an old favorite, March 29, 2003

My sister brought Uno Attack over to our house and six of us played with it the entire evening. The next day I went out and bought one too. It's similar to regular Uno except instead of drawing a card when you don't have a card to play you have to press the button on the Uno Attack machine. Any cards that are ejected are added to your hand. Several new cards have been added to the deck. The Draw Two card from the regular Uno game has been replace by the HIT 2 in the Uno Attack game. If a player plays a HIT 2 card the next player forfeits his turn has to hit the Uno Attack button twice and add any cards that spit out to his hand. There are also two new types of wild cards in addition to the regular wild cards. If a player plays a Wild Hit-fire card the next player forfeits his turn and has to hit the Uno Attack button until cards spit out of the machine. If a player plays a Wild All Hit card then every player except the person that played the card has to hit the Uno Attack button one time. Any cards that shoot out of the machine are added to the hand of the player that activated the machine at that time. Even though everyone has to hit the button nobody has to forfeit their turn. Two other new cards that have been added are the Discard All card and the Trade Hands card. The Discard All card allows a player to discard all the cards in his hand that match the color of the Discard All card. When a player plays a Trade Hands card he has to exchange his hand with that of another player. This card is nice to have when you have a handful of cards and another player only has few. However it can be a hinderence to your going out if you hold on to it too long because the rules state that a player cannot go out on a Trade Hands card. It can be a real pain if you've only got two cards, one of them being a Trade Hands card, and everyone else has at least six cards left in their hand.
The first time we played the game we kept having to refill the machine every other turn because it kept running out of cards. After reading the directions more carefully we noticed that it said to refill the machine when the cards reached the top of the yellow plastic piece on top of the machine. We decided to interpret that as to refill the machine ONLY when the cards reach the top of the yellow plastic piece. Any player that was suppose to press the button when the machine was empty would simply forfeit his turn.
After reading reviews on how the machine stops spitting out cards properly after only a few times I decide to run a few tests. I've discovered that the main problem isn't with the rollers on the machine. The problem is with the cards. Like all new playing cards they're slick when you first get them. This allows them to easily slide against one another in the machine. After a while that slick coating wears off and the cards don't slide as well. The only way I knew to make the cards slick again was to apply a coat of paste wax to the front and back of each and every card. I used the kind of paste wax that's used on hardwood floors. I would simply rub a thin coat of wax on the front and back of each card and then use a soft cloth to buff them when the wax dried. I did about six cards at a time and it took me about four days to get them all done. It was a lot of work but it made the cards as good as new.

We loved the UNO Attack game when we got it for Christmas, it's very easy to learn and all ages in our family enjoyed playing it. My grandmother wanted to play every night, and we all howl with laughter when it shoots the cards out. However, within a few weeks (maybe 6 or so) it stopped shooting the cards. We've tried everything, cleaning the rollers with alcohol, and replacing the batteries, but it still does not shoot them out. I'm trying to contact Mattel, but their Web site doesn't seem to be working. We love this game, but would love it even more if it worked right all the time...
