Monster does it again! A+
I just bought a new computer and I new if I ever needed a new surge protector, monster would have what I need. This baby has it all. I bought this product with the monster label. Well, it lasted abot 3 months and then just quit working. I threw it away forgetting I bought it from amazon. Buy less expensive with higher joules.

I just bought a new computer and I new if I ever needed a new surge protector, monster would have what I need. This baby has it all. Clearly marked, 3 prong, plugs for the computer, monitor, printer, scanner, modem, speakers and two extras... It also includes phone line protection from impulses and discharges caused from surge pulses (you need this! without this, I've lost two modems from storms 30 minutes away!). It includes a since 8ft long power line which is heavily insolated. Other bonuses include the 1665 joule rating, the 24k gold contact grounded plug, little stickers to mark your cables with and a Monster phone line cable. I also like its attractive look. Most are white and stand out. Since this model is black, it appears a little secluded on my desk. But that's not all. You're backed with a grantee this baby will not fail. If it does, you are covered my Monster's insurance! That's worth 50 bucks alone!

Our home was struck by lightening 2 years ago and we had to replace all of our electronics in the house. We chose monster because we felt they had the best warranty and felt they would keep our electronics from frying again. So far so good. No lightening. We do have a lot of power surges here and they work great to keep our electronics safe. Would definitely buy again.

I own alot of electronics and computer equipment and have always used Monster Power surge protectors - just in case.
But the true test came into practice last December. The weather was extremely windy on that particular day and while my Mom and I were sitting at the kitchen table, we suddenly heard a loud pop followed by a sizzling noise. And then the lights went off in part of my house and dimmed in the rest. The wind had gusted so strongly that it pulled a power line loose from my house - thus we had a power surge.
Well of course you know we immediately called our power company but here's the point I want to make. I went into every room to do a check and as I entered my home office, I smelled what was a uniquely burnt electronics smell (If you've ever experienced this you know what I'm talking about). And then I found the source: my MP surge protecter. IT WAS FRIED TO A CRISP!! However, my laptop, wireless router, printer, and a couple of other things I had plugged into it were just fine. It seems the brunt of the power surge hit this particular room. It also took out the furnace, dishwasher and a few plug-in's in the garage, which insurance took care of.
Monster Power saved me a few thousand dollars worth of computer equipment and all for less than thirty bucks!
So the moral of my story is this: if you value your computer and audio/video equipment, please invest in a surge protector. And of course I recommend a Monster Power strip. I had my tv, dvd player, satellite reciever, stereo equipment, and iPod plugged into another Monster Power surge protecter for A/V equipment. It was all perfectly fine.
Needless to say, as soon as my power was restored, I got online and ordered another MP surge protector from Amazon to replace the one that had just been fried. Thank you Monster Power! Your product lives up to the hype!

I've used Monster products going back to their early cables. Whether or not they are better than other brands has to be taken on faith. What I mean by that is that there's no way for the average buyer to check whether they are actually better.
One thing that I can say is that this thing is built. It's not to be confused with a $9.99 power strip from Staples. It may be plastic, but it's heavy plastic.
I particularly commend Monster on their including three outlets that will handle "wall wart" power supplies. On many strips, these things eat up two or more outlets rendering the strip much less useful.
So, is it a good product? I'd have to say yes based on build quality and erogonomics. Whether it will protect your system better than other quality brands is something you need to judge based on the manufacturer's reputation.

I bought one of these because I had a strange popping sound coming for my speakers every time somebody turned a light switch on or off in my house. I was told it was due to dirty power, so when I saw this thing I bought it right away. It doesn't do anything to solve my problem. The speakers are still popping, and when I measured the voltage through this device, it wasn't any more stable than without it. As far as I can tell, it did absolutely nothing. Its a pretty expensive power strip if the features don't work. I'm returning it today.
That being said, it seems to be relatively well built.

This is the 3rd surge plug that I have purchased. The first one met an untimely death do to a major water spill from a fish aquarium, but all the equipment attached to it survived. All in all, these plugs are the best. Each plug is labled and you get tags to label your cords (a nice feature if all your plugs are same color and style). the added area for power packs is a nice touch as those take up so much room.

I was having a problem with my computer coming on, I took it to the computer shop guy and he did not find anything wrong with it, I asked him what it could be. He told me maybe my electric was surgey in my house and it would affect my computer. I asked what should I get. He recommended a power strip by Monster. I searched up one I could afford for my needs and this one seemed to be the one for me. It has worked well for me so far! My computer is doing fine so far, also.
