Fabulous for Teaching Yoga
The others who reviewed this album before me are right - every time I teach a yoga class and play this cd, one or two students always ask me what I was playing. Misleading title, not truly a "class"
This is an audio CD with music only, there is no voice-over with a guided routine, which is what I thought I was getting when I purchased this CD. Don't be mislead!! What is included, however, is a mini-poster of a routine that is suggested to go along with this collection of songs. I ended up doing my own routine, which was fine, but sometimes when you are doing yoga,...

This Cd was recommended to me by the folks at Amazon. Out of curiosity and since I was searching for background music to support my in-home yoga practice, I bought it and I must say I was not dissappointed at all!.
The music is awe inspiring with an underlining of exotism, mystical and even sensual, ideal for your personal yoga practice. Yet it is far from been the typical sound you might expect to hear coming out from an aged-hippie den. It is not New Age either.
The inset leaflet has a sketched yoga class in the style of the Jivamukti school of N.Y., coreographed with the Cd tracks, that could be a plus for someone familiar with yoga postures. The tracks go well with any yoga practice and ends with a beautiful song that is ideal for relaxation pose at the end of the yoga session. Even if you don't practice yoga but want to get a Cd to listen to and relax by, this is an excellent choice. If you like trance or world music, you will definedly love this Cd.

The most beautiful, spiritual, and uplifting music anyone can wish for. My Yoga teacher uses it in her class, and everytime she does, her students comment on how wonderful it is. I use it with my clients in my natural healing practice; they are always more relaxed, and more satisfied with their treatments. I also play it a lot at home - it's lovely for meditation, or just to listen to. The most gorgeous track has to be "Chen Rezi", followed closely by "Thy Will". Listening to this CD makes you feel all warm, relaxed, and content.

I am on this site to order this CD again!! Unfortunately I left this this awesome CD in a stero in one of the many gyms I teach in. It is a funky type of music and spirtually uplifting. My clients (yogis) love it. I decided to review it while I was here. Buy it!! Your yoga student will love you and your class.

Mesmerizing, January 3, 2002

This CD is deep, mystical, and sensual - perfect for an ashtanga or power yoga class. My students always come up after class to find out what I was playing. It's become my favorite CD for yoga class and sometimes I just listen to it for fun. There isn't enough yoga music like this.

My yoga teacher used this CD last night in class and I loved it. The last piece for shivasana particularly moved me; I found it very wonderful and inspiring. I enjoyed it so much I am here buying the CD. I would highly recommend this CD.

This has become my new favorite for teaching yoga. Without fail, after class, someone(or several someones), will come up to me to find out what music I was playing because they loved it and want to get it so they can practice at home. The music is not so mellow that you could doze, but peaceful enough so as not to be distracting from the task at hand. The message in the lyrics is spiritual in a universal way.

I ended up doing my own routine, which was fine, but sometimes when you are doing yoga, you don't want to have to think about what to do next, it's nice to be "told" versus worrying about whether or not you did the same sequence of poses on the other side. (Yogi's, you know what I mean!) The music selection is average, very tribal in nature. The very last track is potentially distracting, unfortunate since you should be in sivasana at the end. Overall, average, I would recommend Yoga Rhythm By Soulfood instead.

Some good tracks on this CD, and probably quite nice overall if you teach a very spiritually-oriented class. Admittedly, I bought this CD out of curiosity and don't mind listening to most of it on a casual basis. It's about as good as the classic Asana CD, overall.The reason I don't use it in class is very simple. The vocal and lyric of the final cut is obnoxiously repetitive and terribly self-important. Not exactly what I what when I'm setting the mood for Savasana (final resting pose).

This cd combines both invigoration and relaxation all in one! My yoga workout was transcending. I turned the volume off on my yoga dvd and turned up this cd. Truely amazing! I listen to this to relax and read and also to cook. I absolutely love this cd and can't say enough about it. When I got further into the cd, I found that one of the songs was one that my yoga instructor used during relaxation pose. Buy and enjoy!
