Fabulous product, HORRID packaging
This is the only iron product that many people--including me--can tolerate. It is substantially more expensive than many other iron preparations, but I don't mind paying extra to avoid the awful side effects associated with those. (AMAZON'S PRICE, however, was better than my local Wal-Mart or CVS.)

Be careful if you're diabetic
These are decent iron tablets but be careful if you're diabetic. My wife took these and for a while she was getting unexplained peaks in her blood sugar overnight. When she stopped taking the supplement, the peaks also stopped. Turns out that lactose is one of the top ingredients.

Fabulous product, HORRID packaging, July 12, 2007

I DO MIND VERY MUCH that the manufacturer ignores customer reviews that talk about the terribly inconvenient packaging. Why should loyal customers who are willing to pay more for the product be subjected to trying to wrest these tablets from the packaging? Perhaps people with small children or mentally incompetent people in their households prefer such packaging, but why can't a plastic bottle be made available to the rest of us?
Thanks, Amazon, for friendly pricing. Boo-Hiss, Novartis, for your ongoing disregard of your customers' preferences.
Jayni Mosher.

This is a very good product., August 28, 2005
This review is from: Slow Fe Slow Release Iron Tablets 90-Count Box (Health and Beauty)
I had a hemoglobin level of 8. A rather dangerous low level of iron. I ordered the tablets. I had been taking a different brand. But, after, starting on these, I felt much better. I have not had my levels drawn again. But, they have made a difference in how I feel.

Great supplement for iron deficiency anemia without the usual nasty side effects of stomach upset or constipation.

Much better than generic, October 11, 2008
This review is from: Slow Fe Slow Release Iron Tablets 90-Count Box (Health and Beauty)
OK, so I tried to save some $$ by getting the generic at my local store. Big mistake.
Went back to the doctor and he recommended this brand by name, so I ordered it here because it was cheaper than my drug store.
I am on my second box now and it has made a world of difference in how I feel and in my test results. I always thought generics were just the same as the name brands, but that is not the case for this supplement. I will be buying this brand again

Worth the $$$, August 22, 2008
This review is from: Slow Fe Slow Release Iron Tablets 90-Count Box (Health and Beauty)
I get anemic easily with heavy periods. This product is a godsend. I can't take regular iron as it makes me nauseated and other typical adverse affects if you know what I mean. So I tried this and 1-2 days into treatment I feel energy again and I can tell I'm on the mend and I have absolutely no side affects taking this.

I found out I had mild form of anemia and had to take iron supplement. Many other iron pills would make me constipated but SlowFe works great! Olga S.

Works well, November 3, 2006
This review is from: Slow Fe Slow Release Iron Tablets 90-Count Box (Health and Beauty)
I've tried a number of iron products over the years. SlowFe works very well and doesn't have some of the typical affects one can experience from iron supplements. I would highly recommend its use.

good product, easy to use.., May 28, 2009
This review is from: Slow Fe Slow Release Iron Tablets 90-Count Box (Health and Beauty)
the supplement iron enables the body to produce energy. So if you feel a little sluggish, (abnormal poor energy), you may not be getting enough iron in your diet, or either your body doesn't process it effeciently.
thankfully, you have this product. I have noticed it does provide a bit of a energy boost (I'm not completely tired at the end of the day as before). Try it, it might help you as well.

Easy way to take tablets out from the packaging, April 8, 2010
This review is from: Slow Fe Slow Release Iron Tablets 90-Count Box (Health and Beauty)
Its too early to comment on the effectiveness of this pill, but I share the pain which everybody is feeling about the packaging of these tablets. While trying different ways to make it easier, I found a way which will ease your pain and make it very easy to remove tablets from its strip.
Take warm water in a bowl and dip the whole strip in the water for few minutes. Since packaging is water proof, tablets are safe. After few minutes, remove the strip from the water and start peeling the paper backing. The paper should be easily peeled off now in one piece and you'll end up with only silver foil backing which should bring smile on your face and no more fighting with the packaging :)
Once the paper backing is removed, wipe the strip dry and store it back in the box.
