5.0 out of 5 stars Works great in my iMac
Installation into the iMac 800 Mhz (17" wide screen model) was a breeze. Memory was immediately recognized by the system.

1.0 out of 5 stars I got it! But it don't work!
After using Microsoft's free download utility program (look for mtinst.exe) I found that this memory failed 14 out of 16 of the standard memory tests -- it's got to go back!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good 512MB SODIMM for notebooks, September 13, 2002

When I first got this module, I was worrying that my notebook wouldn't take it (its a Sony PCG-R505EL) due to its 512MB capacity. Fortunately it did!!!! So thankful that my notebook doens't require Sony Proprietory Memory Modules. Now the notebook runs so much smoother (at 640MB) than the old days (256MB). PNY just helped me save over 200 bucks in comparison to the Kingston module for this notebook model!

Purchased a SO-DIMM for my Apple PowerBook G4 and as soon as I re-booted into the Finder and tried to do work the Mac crashed -- first time in 4 years. Shocking to say the least. After more than 8 hrs of trouble-shooting, determined that it had to be the SO-DIMM that was at fault.

Had the memory tested by an authorised Apple repair centre and was told it was faulty. Sent the SO-DIMM back to Amazon for replacement. Installed replacement SO-DIMM and experience same crashing events: The PowerBook would sit there for a few minutes and then, for no apparent reason, crash. This is useless, sub-par memory.

Ended-up buying Other World Computing memory instead and after installing it, stress-tested the PowerBook G4. No problems after 24hrs of continuous testing.

PNY is clearly a manufacturer to be avoided at all costs.

Excellent turn around on the order. I bought this memory so I would have a matching pair in my old Dell Latitude notebook. Normally not having matching pairs is not a problem, but the laptop was having issues. Replacing the OEM really solved my crash issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars New lease on life for an old laptop, March 3, 2010

I installed this memory in a Compaq Evo N600 laptop. It works wonderfully, bumping up RAM from a sluggish 256 MB to 768 MB. I bought one strip to make sure it would work, knowing how picky some Compaq systems are. Now that it I found it does indeed work, I am debating if it's worth investing another $60 to take it to the max of 1 GB of RAM.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT PC100 compatible, November 3, 2009

This item is described as PC100/PC133 compatible. A call to PNY's automated-answer hell revealed that NONE of their PC133 memory is backward compatible with computers requiring PC100 memory. Unfortunately, the memory configurator on PNY's website links to this product by Amazon SKU # (B00006B6KN), and a search of the Amazon website for the PNY part # recommended by the configurator for my laptop (6432ZESWM for a Sony Vaio PCG-FXA36) led to this item (Amazon has since corrected this). During that same call to PNY I finally managed to speak to a tech, who informed me that PNY no longer makes the 6432ZESWM part. I assume that PNY certified this item to Amazon as an equivalent substitute, which it clearly is not. Amazon was very helpful with this issue, PNY not so much. The PNY tech even seemed offended when I said that they should stop marketing their memory as PC100/PC133, since they no longer make any PC100 compatible RAM. I will definitely buy from Amazon again, but will not buy any PNY products in future.

1.0 out of 5 stars No worky, June 5, 2009
I was attempting to upgrade a couple of older laptops, a Dell Latitude CSX500 and an IBM T21. Both require PC100 memory. This memory failed to work in both. Amazon replaced with another stick which also failed. Amazon is great; this memory is not.
