Customer Video Review

Device broke after about 300 pages :(
This device worked wonderfully (I was able to create books out of pdf ebooks I own), but then around the 300th page the slider broke off from the internal metal hole punchers. I'm going to go into my garage and get a screwdriver and see if I can fix this. But this is a very flimsy, shoddily-made product. I had a strict rule of never punching more than 5 pages at a time,...

Fortunately or unfortunately I had to take all my music books to Kinkos to have them rip the bindings as well as take ~0.25" off top and bottoms so the pages would fit in the machine. Machine is solid and easy to use, especially with standard paper sizes.

Very easy to use, January 9, 2007
This review is from: GBC ProClick P50 Desktop Binding Machine (2515650) (Office Product)
I had been looking in stores for something to bind calendars that I wanted to make for the holidays for several years. I finally found the ProClick online. It works really great. Very easy and quick to use. You can only do a few pages at a time of card stock. However, I won't be using it for any multi page items. The ProClick is just perfect for calendars, or photo albums, or even small scrapebooking projects.

Excellent Value!, February 13, 2008
This review is from: GBC ProClick P50 Desktop Binding Machine (2515650) (Office Product)
If you are looking for an easy to use binding tool, ProClick is definitely worth looking at. I've been using it in our homeschool for over a year now and couldn't be more happy with it. I'll list the pros and cons...
Pros
Spines open and close so you can continue to add to your project
The spines come in a variety of sizes, up to 100 pages
The spines can be easily cut down to work with smaller sized pages
Easy to use, even a child could use it
Pages lay flat in spines
Small, easy to store
Cons
Can only easily cut about 6-7 pages at a time and 2 pieces of card stock (for me this isn't much of an issue)
Can't bind larger pages, such as 12x12 scrapbooking pages (also not a big deal to me)
Obviously, the pros way outweigh the cons. I'm completely thrilled with my ProClick and highly recommend it!

Pro-Click is a homeschool mom's friend!, December 8, 2007
This review is from: GBC ProClick P50 Desktop Binding Machine (2515650) (Office Product)
This Pro-Click system is great for creating and maintaining student notebooks. It is easy to use (even for the kids), very durable and reliable, and the spines could not be easier to close/reopen/reclose. Our school notebooking projects can lay flat; pages can be rearranged easily; and we have a professional-looking finished project! Yay for Pro-Click!

I'm going to go into my garage and get a screwdriver and see if I can fix this. But this is a very flimsy, shoddily-made product. Nice Results, But Process Can Be Problematic, January 3, 2009
This review is from: GBC ProClick P50 Desktop Binding Machine (2515650) (Office Product)
I like the look of the ProClick spines, but this machine does have some drawbacks. First, if you don't have strong hands and you're working with index paper which has been laminated (about all I work with), it's really very hard to pull the half-wheel along for cutting even a single page. And if you're working with undersized paper (which is all I work with), it takes a lot of testing time to find the exact spot to place the paper so you don't wind up with half-a-hole at one end. Finally, the cutters aren't accessible, and since I'm working with sticky laminates, I'm guessing I may eventually have a problem with not being able to clean away the stickiness. But if you're working with plain letter size paper, this is a good product.

Designed for 11" Paper, April 22, 2010
This review is from: GBC ProClick P50 Desktop Binding Machine (2515650) (Office Product)
Bought one of these for making some half sized booklets (8.5" x 5.5"). While the spines are easy enough to trim down to size, the device itself is clearly intended for 11" sheets. While the bottom edge looks great, the top edge ends up with a half a hole on it. While it's easy enough to make a little card-board spacer to offset the holes from the bottom to look better on the smaller sheet, it would have been nicer if the machine were in some way adjustable. Especially if you want slightly over-sized covers for your smaller project, in which case there's no way to get extra unpunched space along the top edge.
Still, the machine is pretty sturdy and does what it claims. I actually broke mine trying to punch through my hand-made covers, which were basically cereal box cardboard with paper glued around the outside. I was able to take apart the machine and fix it with just a screw driver and a socket set, looks like one of the plastic pieces just jumped the track. The lesson was: don't apply downward pressure when punching difficult material. Instead, pull side to side harder.
I'm giving the machine 4 stars as it really does what it's supposed to do well, which is punch 11" tall paper. The spines (not included!) are easy to use and it's cool that they can be re-opened and reused. It was only by pushing it beyond what it was supposed to do (small sheets, heavier cardboard) that I had any problems, and even these were fairly easy to rectify.

Low cost paper punch for book binding., October 16, 2008
This review is from: GBC ProClick P50 Desktop Binding Machine (2515650) (Office Product)
This product performs as advertised. It is well designed but can only handle a few pages at a time. If you overload it, it is hard to slide the punching wheel and sounds like it may break. It is important that the paper be inserted all the way to the back for the entire length of the punch or the punched holes will run-off the edge of the paper making those pages unusable. If your paper is a non-standard length you will have to find the best placement of your pages on the punch so you don't get a half circle punched from the bottom or top of your punch line. The final product is great and works well with the spines designed for this style of punch, but the progress may seem slow as you grind through three or four sheets at a time depending on the thickness of the paper. Great product for the price but not for production work.

Awesome Machine, April 14, 2010
This review is from: GBC ProClick P50 Desktop Binding Machine (2515650) (Office Product)
I purchased this item because I was constantly running to Staples to bind manuals and reports. The item itself is very slim and easy to store and works wonderfully. It only takes about 6-10 pages at a time, but for the money and convienience you can't beat it. Also with this machine, you don't have to buy any special paper. I have used plain ordinary file folders with tabs as chapter breaks! I've even used Avery's plastic reusuable dividers, the machine has handled everything I've thrown at it. Since this is entirely mechanical with no electric parts, there is noting to clog or break. Also, the spines and jackets are reusable. As we all know, most items no longer come with manuals, you must either print them out or read them on the computer, so this is the perfect solution and when the manuals need updating you just reprint, discard the old manual and pop the pages right back onto the spine and close. This is one item you will not regret buying.

Great Product, February 16, 2009
This review is from: GBC ProClick P50 Desktop Binding Machine (2515650) (Office Product)
I bought this for my grad-school group to bind our papers; it works fantastic and does a much better bind then a "comebind". I highly recommend this binder; it is also smaller than most binders so it is portable. The device its self is half plastic and half medal. It does feel like it could break "if overloaded". I do 4 sheets at a time or 1 plastic sheet at a time. I've done about 100 sheets total and it hasn't broke, meets my specs very well. The video that someone posted is a very good example of how this works.
