I was sure I had a different dog!

Sporn Harness Review
I have a 90# Doberman He was pulling my Medical Scooter when I was trying to walk him. The Sporn Harness did not help much the only way it helped is if I really had it tight on him. I was scared I would cut his circulation off so do not use it went back to a pinch collar with firmer corections. It may work well for dogs that are not head strong my Dobe is a teenager 18...

I was sure I had a different dog!, April 24, 2003
This review is from: The Sporn Pull Stop Halter Leash BLACK - LARGE (Misc.)
My veterinarian recommended I try this halter in order to control a 70 pound adolescent sheepdog who was next to impossible to walk. While the veterinarian admitted had no experience with the halter, an employee in his office had highly recommended its use. She used to have a husky who was a former sled dog and this product was the only thing that would control her husky. Our Ginnie Mae chased cars, stalked animals and seemed to think she was a sled dog pulling me! Choker collars did little to deter her dangerous behavior. She would tug until she backed out of a regular collar. If she saw a bird my arm was torn out of the socket! On more than one occasion, I ended up mid air and on the ground! Daily walks were dangerous and neither one of the kids could walk her.Our first walk with the Sporn Halter was amazing. This formerly uncontrollable dog never tugged at the leash--NOT ONCE! The halter completely subdued her behavior. The straps around her front legs are not at all tight so the dog seems completely comfortable. It is easy to fit, easy to get on and off the dog and the dog does not seem to be bothered by the apparatus. The Sporn collar can remain on the dog (with the arm straps detached) but I have found it easier to just leave her regular collar on and leave the sporn halter on the leash. No reason the kids cannot walk her now! I do not know why this apparatus works but it absolutely does!

Works like a charm, May 17, 2007
This review is from: The Sporn Pull Stop Halter Leash BLACK - LARGE (Misc.)
The Sporn Halter works well because its design puts a slight pressure on the sensitive pressure points under the dog's leg, more or less the equivilent of a pressure point in your armpit. The dog immediately responds to the discomfort and behaves properly...and stays a happy dog. No pressure on its throat. For the person who below complained that it was complicated to put on, perhaps the first time or two...once solved, it's a simple process. My dog, who was a maniac before the Sporn, sits patiently while I put the collar on and then is off like a rocket but also immediately settles down when I put on his leash. He knows that the Sporn means a fantastic run in the park, it's nice because you can easily put the dog on and off leash the little ring stays nice on the top of their back, easy to find when needed. I'm guessing that perhaps the owner did not have it on properly when she wrote that it did not work. It works like a charm. My groomer told me about it, they use a similar apparatus during the grooming process and the dogs are always under control in her shop, from English sheep dogs to little toy poodles.
Try it, you'll love it. And the neat thing is that big dogs can now be walked by lesser weight people without the worry that they will be pulled half-way across town.

Fantastic!, February 22, 2008
This review is from: The Sporn Pull Stop Halter Leash BLACK - LARGE (Misc.)
Despite obedience training, my dog was still difficult to control on walks if there were any distractions so I bought this halter in desperation since no other methods were working.
The Sporn halter works like a dream! Walks are now enjoyable and stress free since I don't have to constantly correct him. It's easy to put on and is comfortable for the dog. He now walks calmly at my side with no tugs or verbal reminders and best of all....no injuries for me!

I LOVE THIS COLLAR, May 19, 2006
This review is from: The Sporn Pull Stop Halter Leash BLACK - LARGE (Misc.)
My 5 month old, 74 pound German Shepherd has been to puppy class and failed due to excessive pulling on the lead. It was just too frustrating to take him anywhere because all he did was pull on the lead no matter how strictly I tried to curb that behavior. He's a big boy so this was a huge problem. Walking him became impossible. I tried everything and nothing worked. I did not buy this halter at first because it looked too simple and light weight to be effective. I WAS SO WRONG!
It took a little getting used to to put on the first time but after we mastered that task he was off and walking like a perfectly well trained dog. He is so happy out waking now. If he starts to tug, a simple pull back with verbal commands and he immediately correct himself.
We went from absolutely no walking to be able to have daily excursions through parks, across busy streets, and share the sidewalks with pedestrians and even other fellow 4 legged friends.
It is an effective and kind halter that is far superior to continuous yanking on a poor pup's neck.
Last week I was able to walk my pup to a busy sidewalk caf where I ate the most delicious pastry and sipped numerous cups of coffee all while my perfect puppy sat near the table accepting all the praises about how handsome and well behaved he is. I am in heaven!

Amazing results, October 31, 2007
This review is from: The Sporn Pull Stop Halter Leash BLACK - LARGE (Misc.)
I was just about at the "end of my leash" trying to train our dog not to pull during walks. I tried everything they suggested at dog obedience school and it just wasn't working. I thought I'd give this "no pull" leash a try and was stunned at how good the results were. The first time out she was by my side and not pulling and suddenly my kids can walk her with no problem. My only complaint is that she has been able to nearly chew through a part of it, but the company has an unconditional warranty and so even that is not a problem.

Thanks God i found this, September 25, 2006
This review is from: The Sporn Pull Stop Halter Leash BLACK - LARGE (Misc.)
I just adopt Alaska Malamute couple weeks ago and OMG! she alway want to launch everytime i walked her. i also owned another golden mix and he's never ever pull this hard like her. only 2-4 times after the choke chain he's done w/ pulling and we thought would be the same story as her but it wasn't. While i was looking for the harness for her i saw this sporn halter then i researched about it on the internet seem like everyone who own it love it so i thought to myself like oh what the hack just a try. i absolutely love it. As last comment said like having another dog and sure it was. This product works like a charm. I also pick up the Sporn Double Dog Coupler. Before i owned this halter there is noway i can handle this two dog together at the same time. My husband normally have to be the one who walk the malamute since i can't fight her w/ all the pulling but right now i went for a walk in afternoon by myself w/ 2 dogs no problem at all. All i can said is try it, u'll notice the different for the first time u used it. Thanks god i found this wonderful product. Love it !!!!

Not for my dogs!, April 9, 2006
This review is from: The Sporn Pull Stop Halter Leash BLACK - LARGE (Misc.)
I can't tell you how many harnesses and collars I've tried. Lots of money spent! I had high hopes for this even though it was pricey and very similar to a cheaper one with the sherpa sleeves. It is NOT fast or easy to put on, and I have 2 dogs that go crazy when it's walk time, so I don't want to fiddle around with halters. And my dogs pulled. Just like they did with the others. Not as bad as when they're wearing a regular collar but they definately pulled. I have a Jack Russell and a Beagle. Also, my Jack still coughed and sputtered some when she pulled. I'm looking at 2 others now...the Easy-walk and the Pro-Stop. I'll post reviews the one I get after I try it.

Not for big dogs, February 23, 2008
This review is from: The Sporn Pull Stop Halter Leash BLACK - LARGE (Misc.)
I have a 125lb Great Dane and tried this. I think that it might work for smaller dogs but it's positioned where most of the dog's power is - in the front quarters. It does nothing to control his head - you can't stop them from sniffing or paying attention to things you want them to ignore. Luckily he was behaving himself on the walk and didn't pull too much, but I don't think he could care less that it was on and if we would have been in a more populated area I think it would have been bad bad news.
