Great toy for road trips, completely safe
I got a previous version of one of these for my daughter as a gift. I was skeptical, but amazed at the calming effect it had during our 9 hour road trips to visit family. I pulled it out years later for my son and just lost it in a rental car switch. I am very eager to get a new one. I highly recommend it. My children are road warriors and this makes the trip more...

Melted on first day in car
I put this in my car the evening I received it. The next morning the strap holding it in place had already detached itself from the back of the product. While it was hot in the car, it was not sweltering -- the outside temp was about 82 degrees. The glue that holds the strap to the gallery doesn't seem to be able to withstand any heat. It's strange for a product that...

I got a previous version of one of these for my daughter as a gift. I was skeptical, but amazed at the calming effect it had during our 9 hour road trips to visit family. I pulled it out years later for my son and just lost it in a rental car switch. I am very eager to get a new one. I highly recommend it. My children are road warriors and this makes the trip more pleasant for us all.

Great Invention!, September 12, 2005

I love this item! I had it in my car but NOT in my husband's car and wondering why everytime I put our little girl in his car she's always fussy and crying even on a short trip. I discover that she misses this gallery so when we had a seven hour trip to Canada, I put it in my husband's car, amazingly how quiet she is and we only need one stop over. I highly recommend this product, in fact I'm buying another one for my car today.

worth the money for us, October 16, 2005

Our baby HATED riding in the car until we got this toy. He would just scream and scream. But now when we put his car seat into the car, he is captivated by these pictures and will stare at them and then fall asleep. So this toy has been a real lifesaver for us. We also take the cards out of it and bring them into the house so he can look at them while having tummy time, etc. The only thing that would make this item better is more pictures, but there are still plenty included. This was a great purchase for us.

I have a 3 month old son, and I bought this about a month ago when we were planning a vacation that would have us on the road for 18 hours. It definitely helped. I also got a Fisher Price auto mirror similar to the $12.99 version on this site (I got it at Toys 'R' Us) which he enjoys looking at himself in--and I can see him too, which is a plus. He also had his 2 year old brother to entertain him, and by using a combination of all of these things, he was an angel on the trip.

It doesn't go ON the baby seat!!, August 5, 2004

To the person who wrote the review about this being unsafe. This toy goes around the headrest of the BACK SEAT OF YOUR CAR, not on the infant carrier. DUH!
I think this will be a great calm toy for my baby to look at while we're driving! I hope I recieve it. ( i registered for it)

Developmental, Safe and Multi Functional, June 8, 2005

I love this item. I am a former Montessori preschool teacher as well as a mother of 3. I bought this item for my 2 month old in preparation for a road trip this summer. I haven't put it in our car yet; I have been taking with me around the house and hanging it on anything that I can find. (Door knobs etc...) It works great and my baby now has something to look at while in her bouncy seat while I am showering or making lunch. As for the review about this toy being unsafe, in my opinion that is just not true, the person who wrote the review seems to have had no knowledge of this product. It does not attach to the child's car seat itself, it attaches to the seat of the car. It is made of soft plastic with plastic pockets, nothing hangs from it, nothing is made of hard plastic it is just a simple flat item that gives your baby something developmentally appropriate to look at instead of the interior of a car. I would recommend this product to anyone with a young baby in their life.

Who would have know a bunch of cards would be so entertaining?, July 11, 2005

I decided to purchase two of these "galleries" for my twin sons a few months ago. they have always been in the convertible car seats, but (at now 7 months old) were not too interested in holding their toys.
They absolutly LOVE the gallery! But I love it more, because its easy to use! I can attach it onto the headrests in my van, and they LOVE looking at the pictures, and even attempting to kick at them! For the 4th of July we were driving pretty much all day, every other day, and this kept them occupied! We switch up the cards, and even printed out some of our own (similar to these) and laminated them! We even attach them to the crib for them to look at (put a removable hook over one of the edges!) and the boys love it!
I dont feel that they are dangerous at all, although most professionals say not to use ANY type of toy attached into your car, these happen to be very soft and pliable... They also aren't meant to hang on the infant carrier, so please dont become confused! I even found them on sale, so I purchased one more to put in the back of one of the headrests so my daughter, who's forward facing, could see them. She likes them, but likes to hold the cards better... I keep it there just because it "can't hurt".
All in all I would recommend every parent to purchase one of these! They keep a child's attention for much longer than a toy that they may drop, and its great!

This product worked really well for me because my baby hates the car and it managed to distract and entertain her for a good long time. It has lots of visual variety and I highly recommend it!

It's strange for a product that is meant to stay in the car.
I am planning on re-glueing the strap sometime soon. In the meantime it's propped up in front of the baby, and I have to say that she loves it! The pictures are really neat, and she's entranced by them. I just wish that more thought had gone into the manufacturing materials.

First off, this IS NOT MADE TO BE HUNG ON YOUR INFANT SEAT. The person that wrote instructions are for a reason and not to put it dangling from infant seat...there are instructions with this also, you hang it from the head rest so that the baby can look at it, not play with it. It is a great focusing toy for newborns too. Mine loves to stare at it and it strengthens their eye muscles! We keep some cards at home and some in the car. Older babies love it too! Great item, I would definitely recommend this!!
