5.0 out of 5 stars I can feel it working...
I bought this at a Health Food Store because of an infection that prescription medication didn't work. (***For all people who may not be informed, these capsules are a suppliment and have nothing to do with baking or cooking yeast, nor does this product have yeast in it, this product is listed on this site under 'Candida and Yeast Support'.) 3.0 out of 5 stars Good product, but not strong enough
This is a Yeast CLEANSE, not a yeast supplement. It works well but since they tend to make one drowsy, taking them at bedtime is the only time that makes sense, and with a recommended dosage of 6 caps, it's a mouthfull. Why don't they make a more concentrated version?

I bought this at a Health Food Store because of an infection that prescription medication didn't work. (***For all people who may not be informed, these capsules are a suppliment and have nothing to do with baking or cooking yeast, nor does this product have yeast in it, this product is listed on this site under 'Candida and Yeast Support'.) As a woman, I found that this product worked VERY well for me, and helped a lot with the infection I had. At first I took 6 capsules a day and the infection got significantly better; after that when I was feeling a bit better, I forgot the second dose of 3 capsules for a few days and once I realized it, I was still doing fine. With 6/day, it pretty much helped clear it up, and with 3/day, it helped to maintain my health. After buying one 90 capsule bottle, I quickly bought a 180 capsule bottle. I love this suppliment and will continue to buy it. I also love that you can feel it working (not in a bad or uncomfortable way), it's reassuring to feel it work... I recommend this to anyone...and I didn't even use it with Acidophilus (though I don't know that using both would make a difference)...I had recurring problems with my female health, and this really made a difference. Buy it, you won't regret it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Does this product work? YES!!!, November 19, 2006
This review is from: Solaray - Yeast Cleanse, 180 capsules (Health and Beauty)
This product is amazing! Start taking 3 caps twice daily at the first signs of a yeast infection and symptoms will disappear within a day. I have used this product many times to treat yeast infections and it has worked every time. I began taking 2 caps twice daily for maintence and it works wonders to maintain a healthy flora. Highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars May work, but is really dangerous...., March 2, 2008
By Cosmic Den Mother (Winter Park, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Solaray - Yeast Cleanse, 180 capsules (Health and Beauty)
I read several reviews of this product that say it works wonders and although I only took one dose, I believe that it may in fact work. However, the ingredient list contains 60mg of Tea Tree Oil. Everything I have read about Tea Tree suggests that it should NEVER be ingested. I did a little research and found nothing to contradict that information. Just to be sure, I contacted a trusted herbalist to get a second opinion. She consulted several of colleagues and they all said the same thing...NEVER ingest Tea Tree Oil. So, although this product may cure your Candida, but it contains an ingredient that if ingested can also be toxic or cause internal bleeding or cause you to lapse into a coma, etc., etc., etc. So, I couldn't possibly recommend this to anyone.

By the way, I contacted Solaray to ask why they included something like Tea Tree in a supplement. No one ever got back to me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not take this product!, September 3, 2010
This review is from: Solaray - Yeast Cleanse, 180 capsules (Health and Beauty)
A direct quote from the National Institute of Health (NIH) website:

"Tea tree oil taken by mouth has been associated with potentially severe reactions, even when used in small quantities. Several reports describe people using tea tree oil by mouth who developed severe rash, reduced immune system function, abdominal pain, diarrhea, lethargy, drowsiness, inflammation of the corners of the mouth, slow or uneven walking, confusion, or coma. There have also been reports of nausea, unpleasant taste, burning sensation, and bad breath associated with tea tree oil use."

Solaray Yeast Cleanse has 60mg of tea tree oil in it! I purchased this product based on the recommendation of the "expert" at my local health food store. I originally wanted to purchase caprylic acid and oil of oregano (which I knew from my own research that both were good supplements to fight off Candida). She told me that the Yeast Cleanse contained several other natural ingredients that were recommended to fight chronic yeast infections, so I took her advice and bought it. Two days after I began taking the capsules I had severe abdominal cramping, nausea, a blinding migraine-like headache, and pain in most of my muscles and joints. I looked up the other ingredients in the capsules and was shocked when I found the information on tea tree oil's dangers when taken orally.

I realize that these supplements are not "regulated" in the same manner as other medications by the FDA; however, for a company to include a known toxic ingredient in one of their supplements is absolutely irresponsible on THEIR part. I will be returning the remainder of my bottle, along with a copy of the referenced website above, and asking the "expert" for a full refund.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dizziness, December 10, 2009

I took only one dose of this medication (2 capsules) and soon after became incredibly dizzy, and this lasted for more than 24 hours! I don't know if it maybe interacted with something I was taking, but this was my experience.

4.0 out of 5 stars So far so good with Yeast-Cleanse, February 20, 2009
By Molly Kiely (Tucson, AZ United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I'm using Yeast-Cleanse in conjunction with a low sugar, low(er) carb veggie diet to help rid my body of candida. I had headaches for the first few days, and some crankiness in the afternoon (when I'd usually have my tea and cookies) but no ill effects otherwise. After a week of using YC, my energy has returned and my skin issues (tinea corpus, snow squall dandruff) have subsided.

One reviewer had legitimate concerns about the inclusion of tea tree oil in YC -- it isn't recommended that you ingest tea tree oil, but I think the amount in YC is fairly low. I've been using tea tree oil topically and in toothpastes / mouthwashes for over a dozen years, so my body is accustomed and reacts favourably to it.

Also, I'm still nursing my toddler, and she's shown no ill effects getting YC "second hand" from me -- in fact, her persistent diaper rash cleared up within days.

4.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY!!!!, September 8, 2008
...Finally something that works. I've only been taking it for about a week but so far I'm feeling much better. I've had a serious problem with Candida for the last two years. After trial after trial of diflucan with NO IMPROVEMENTS at all I had to take things into my own hands. I've also tried candex. Works well also but is really hard to take on an empty stomach on my schedule...I only rated it a four because I don't think my problem is completely gone but it's deffinately improved from SEVERE to mild symptoms. Best of luck.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great price for a great product, January 19, 2008
I have used this product for several years, and found Amazon a great place to buy it for a much cheaper price. It does help keep the colon clean, and especially after the much sugar laddened holidays. Daily use also helps with the sugar cravings. Try it if you have any problem with candida.
