Good Value
These are good middle - high tone speakers suitable for Chrysler in dash replacements. They are very stable at 22 watts RMS and handle 50 watt peaks with clarity.
For a budget speaker to upgrade standard factory stereo with a decent aftermarket CD player, AM/FM receiver these front speakers will do the job.

Not so great.
I got these for a 98 Cherokee rear speakers. I put one in and tested it against the factory speakers by adjusting the fade and balance and the Pyle is noticeably quieter than the factory speakers. I'm no audiophile, the sound quality is about the same as the factory speakers in my opinion, just quieter. So if you're looking to replace non working factory speakers, these...

Pair this setup with the Pyle 6 x 9 quadraxial "blue series" for rear speakers and you will have a good sounding system for the budget minded.

Not so great., September 2, 2009
This review is from: Pyle PL53BL 5.25-Inch 200 Watt Three-Way Speakers (Electronics)
So if you're looking to replace non working factory speakers, these would be just right for the price. If you want an upgrade in sound you should probably save your $20 and put it toward better speakers. Since these come with the thin red/black wires I plugged one into the home stereo and got tinny sound that lacked the volume of the other speaker. I'd give it fewer stars but the price is so cheap. It's not even worth returning them, maybe I'll use them for something.
As soon as I find the stock speaker connector I'm going to put the factory speaker back in and put these on ebay or in a flea market.

Pyle PL53BL as Factory Replacements, May 3, 2010
This review is from: Pyle PL53BL 5.25-Inch 200 Watt Three-Way Speakers (Electronics)
Just ordered these to replace the door speakers in the front of my 90 Civic Wagon. I upgraded the to a CD player in the dash and wanted to upgrade the speakers (factory were worn out and buzzy) without spending a lot of cash on a 240K+ car. I am no audiophile, but I would recomend them to anyone who is looking for a good value. They do not have as much bass as a pair of 6.5" DP Audios (similar price) that I tried in the same location but could not keep due to resonance with the door. I don't know if that is due to the size of the speaker or the quality, but either way it sounds better because of the lack interaction with the door. Installation was as easy as it could be.

Very nice upgrade from "factory" speakers, November 21, 2008
This review is from: Pyle PL53BL 5.25-Inch 200 Watt Three-Way Speakers (Electronics)
If you are expecting these to outperform high-line JBL, Bose, HK, Infinity, etc., be serious - they are two for $15.00. However, for my Chrysler minivan, they provided a replacement and major upgrade to the factory dash speakers. I was amazed at the cheap quality of the factory speakers when I removed them - looked like something from a '60's transistor radio.
If you search the web, you can also find a service that gives you installation instructions for about $5, so for $20 you have a dramatic upgrade. Great value for the price.

Baseline Speakers Done Well, July 10, 2010
This review is from: Pyle PL53BL 5.25-Inch 200 Watt Three-Way Speakers (Electronics)
What baseline stock speakers should be. I wanted to replace all my factory speakers without spending a ton of money. I used to be somewhat of an audiophile so $23 a pair speakers worried me, but I was pleasantly surprised. They are sized for factory replacements as well.

Can't be beat if you're looking for cheap replacements, March 5, 2010
This review is from: Pyle PL53BL 5.25-Inch 200 Watt Three-Way Speakers (Electronics)
I just replaced my blown factory door speakers with these in my 98 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. I was looking for something inexpensive and hoping they'd sound better than stock. I still have the factory radio installed and these speakers actually sound pretty good. I'm getting a new head unit in less than a week and I'm hoping these speakers sound even better.
If you're someone looking for the best audio system in your car you'll obviously spend more, but for those who need to replace their stock speakers for cheap and still want good sound, get these. Seriously these are great. The bass thumps pretty good, definitely an upgrade from most stock speakers for cars before 02.

So bad I couldn't leave them installed, November 30, 2009
This review is from: Pyle PL53BL 5.25-Inch 200 Watt Three-Way Speakers (Electronics)
I was installing new door speakers in a 1993 toyota previa van. The old ones were destroyed by age, so I thought ANYTHING new would be good enough to make decent sound in this old van. Boy was I wrong. These Pyle speakers are so bad, when we initially installed them I thought the head unit was blown. I found out later, by testing, that the head unit was fine, but the new Pyle speakers were not. At completely normal listening levels, the bass distortion was so bad as to make these unusable. Since the van was all torn apart, I had to go to the store and pay full retail for some reasonable speakers. These will go straight into the landfill. So sad. I have to mention it again -- I am a middle aged man who listens to music at normal low levels... so I was not demanding much at all out of these speakers, yet they failed miserably.
Do not waste your time and money on these.
I don't usually write reviews. But these were so bad, I had to. Please, please don't buy these speakers. I know you want low end speakers or you wouldn't be on this page to begin with... but please, take my advice and don't buy these.

Good cheap replacement (so far), October 12, 2009
This review is from: Pyle PL53BL 5.25-Inch 200 Watt Three-Way Speakers (Electronics)
Got these to replace the sad stock speakers in my sound bar for my '97 Wrangler. They're holding up so far but I didn't notice any improvement from the stock system at all. It would probably be worth it to spend a little more for something that will make a difference. I got another pair of the 4x6 pyle speakers and one of them was crackling within 2 days.
