Shop around. I acquired mine used for about half the list price. The instrument plays beautifully. Very noticeable difference in sound after playing a student model for any amount of time. The rollers around the pancake key will spoil you, making low passages easier to play quickly and help with technical difficulties in fingerings. Overall, I believe it was worth the second mortgage it took to buy it.
