really Great little knife
This knife is missing the toothpick and tweezers when compared to the regular version with plastic scales. But what you get instead is a knife that is only ONE HALF as thick! Besides, who uses the toothpick or tweezers anyway. 99.9% of the functionality of this knife is in the 3 main tools. This thing is so amazingly slender that you can carry it around in your front...

All show no go!!
This one is not as good as the other classic pocket knives. It doesn't have the tweezers or the tooth pick. For less money you can get one of the transluscent colored ones...much more appealing to the eye! Trust me I have one of these on every set of keys I own. This one just feels cheap!!

really Great little knife, May 31, 2007
This knife is missing the toothpick and tweezers when compared to the regular version with plastic scales. But what you get instead is a knife that is only ONE HALF as thick! Besides, who uses the toothpick or tweezers anyway. 99.9% of the functionality of this knife is in the 3 main tools. This thing is so amazingly slender that you can carry it around in your front pocket all day every day and never even feel that it is there. It will not rub in an irritating way like most things carried in pockets. Also it will never show a bump in your pants.
The fine aluminum scales look sleek and elegant and are even suitable for engraving. The scales are well textured without being abrasive and provide a secure, comfortable grip. It is the perfect executive pocket knife (except that it is not overpriced). It is also the perfect pocket companion for people who don't want or like to carry a pocket knife, but still may need to open a package or envelope, trim a loose thread, clean a fingernail or turn a screw once in a while. Let's face it, tool use is what sets us apart from the beasts. Mine has been carried daily for 7 years and still looks perfectly new. I sharpen it when needed and it will shave hair. The only time I do not carry this knife is when I want to have a pen on me. In that case I carry the similar Signature knife with retractable pen and tweezers. With either of these great pocket companions at hand, my life is made a little easier and more pleasant each day.
These comments are in no way a disparagement of the standard plastic Classic knife, of which I have several. That is also a great product. I just feel that the Alox version takes a great concept to it's ultimate refinement. If they tripled the price, I would still be a fan.

Slim, lightweight and durable in the pocket, October 30, 2007
This knife Victorinox - Swiss Army Classic SD- Silver Alox Knife is lighter, slimmer and more handsome than the typical Swiss Army Classic with the plastic sides. Although the product description says it has a tweezer and toothpick, as are found on the Classic with plastic sides, this model has neither. That's why it is so much thinner and lighter than the other models. I've carried it on my key chain for about a month, and it looks no worse for the wear. A great value at about $15.00!

super-handy ghost, January 3, 2007
This small knife is so light weight you barely know it is in your pocket. It comes to the rescue several times per week. At a family gathering during Christmas it helped open most relatives presents. The knife blade and scissors stay sharp for a long time.

Pocket Knife, October 18, 2008
This is my 2nd knife. The first one lasted me 3 years and only broke because I used it for a screw driver which it is not intended to be used. I fully expect my new one to last much longer if used as intended. I highly recommend this pocket knife.

Great little knife., December 7, 2007
The first thing that struck me when I got this knife is that it was very thin. I believe the lack of a toothpick and tweezers makes it slightly thinner than most Swiss Army knives; it fits nicely on a keychain and is darn good to have around. It's quite sturdy feeling, pretty nice looking, and best of all, it's cheap. I think it would make a good stocking stuffer.

A Perfect Little Knife, Great Swiss Quality........., September 8, 2007
The review by "Barry" was right on. After reading the review I realized this was the little knife I wanted. I did not need the tweezers and toothpick. The little knife is quite small and as noted not as thick as the regular Classic Swiss Knife. It is top quality and well made...

Don't Leave Home Without It!, September 17, 2009
I carry a Victorinox Classic Pocket Knife every day of the week, whether in my suite and tie or back packing. You don't need a big knife to fight off a bear. These knives do it all. Compared to many other knives I have had, these are excellent quality. I miss place them long before these wear out.

I loved this little knife, until it was stolen., February 27, 2009
This is a great size for a keychain, and the materials are of good quality stainless steel. The outer shell is nice and sturdy, and i used this for numerous little jobs. Doesnt come with the tweezer or toothpick, but it allows the item to be slimmer than the others and light weight. This makes a great gift, especially if you get it engraved.

Great knife for your keychain, October 4, 2008
I got sick of always trying to use my car keys to open boxes and cut threads and figured I should just get a knife on there. As a keychain addition, this is perfect. It's really tiny. Smaller than most of my keys, actually. The blade is very small, but works for everything I've needed it for so far. A bottle opener would be really nice instead of the scissors or nail file, but I guess I could use the Cadet if I really needed it. All the tools slide out like butter and lock into place securely. This a very well made little tool.
