This is the perfect game for gamers like me. Someone who likes to play for 15-20 minutes at a time. Wario Ware Touched is a series of 5 second mini games that are easy to understand, fun to play and full of wacky (sometimes crass) humor. The quick pace of the games makes it perfect for short gaming sessions and still lets you acomplish something.

The main game won't tkae you taht long to finish, but even after you do there are still many other mini games to find. You find them by mastering the games you have already discovered. Playing in "Album" mode gives you a goal, say 20 repititions of the same mini game, that speeds up as you go along. It can get real tense trying to beat the game as it speeds up a bit more each time you play through it. By passing the goal on multiple games you open new mini games. It's a great idea that keeps you playing to find all the hidden mini games. Thankfully these bonus games are every bit as good as the main ones. I'll be playing this game for quite some time trying to uncover all the games and trying to beat my previous high scores.

You'll be dragging things , drawing, tapping, rubbing and even blowing on your DS to play these games. The D-pad and buttons aren't used at all. Some of the action even crosses from one screen on the DS to the other. All these features insure that this is a very unique experience. I think half the fun I had was just playing a game like I never have before. New players of videogmes can pick up on this games mechanics real easy since it's all about touching and moving things around on the screen.

Many times I found myself chuckling or laughing out loud while playing this game. So be careful if you're playing in public and don't want to get crazy looks from passersby. They might think you're going insane and maybe you are, but you're going to having a great time with Wario. A truly memorable gaming experience.

This is a really great title. Nintendo has branched out on a great franchise to take advantage of the DS's extra capabilities.

It is a fairly easy game to "beat" but as you get better you do unlock more "microgames" to keep you entertained.

There are a few of the levels that can be very frustrated but I still feel this game has a lot of replay value.

Also of note is that the graphics and music are fantastic. I was very impressed with the cartoon cinema scenes.

I would rate this appropriate for over 13 or possibly 11 if you are concerned about some "crude" humor which I wouldn't say is any worse than Saturday morning cartoons.

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect example of a DS game, June 14, 2005

Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Warioware: Touched! (Video Game)
WarioWare has been a small series that was created on the GBA to truly be a short game. The first game wasn't expected to sell as much as it did, but now its on the DS. All the games remain the same, you must play mini games that last for 5 seconds. Sounds easy, right, well at first it starts out slow but then it gets extremely hard by speeding up and even making the games a little more challenging. This installment is the easiest to pick up and play because it does not require any button touches but instead the use of the touch screen for random games.

There are many categories to be unlocked and you get them fairly quickly. That's another thing with the games in the series, they are very short. Being a handheld game I expected it to be short, but the replay value is extremely high. This time around you can unlock toys that allow you to utilize the DS software in the most bizarre ways. For instance, one toy allows you to blow bubbles using the mic while another uses little creatures that follow the stylus and will even fall off the screen if you blow on the mic.

This game is a must-have if you own the DS because it utilizes the touch screen and other features real well. However, you might not like this game if you do not like short and unexplainable games. People who enjoyed Feel the Magic XY/XX will like this game as well because it has the same feel but has more games. This game is made for all ages, the story mode can be completed rather quickly but if you want more of a challenge you can try to get Gold Crowns for all the characters by scoring the high scores on the mini games. Doing so unlocks more toys and stuff to play around with.

Pros
- Over 200 mini games
- Challenges get harder as you progress
- Very addictive gameplay
- Very easy to learn how to play
- Unique unlockables that utilize the DS technology

Cons
- If you don't like random games, you won't like this one
- It can be completed rather quickly

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute madness yet SO fun!!!!!, May 16, 2005

Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Warioware: Touched! (Video Game)
Having played, replayed, and loved the GBA WarioWare: Mega Microgames, it was only natural that I should buy the DS version. WarioWare Touched is perhaps the craziest DS game ever created, a barrage of 5-second microgames one after another. There are 180 of them, all with strange goals like running a mechanical pencil out of lead or popping balloons. Some other reviewers have complained that this game is too easy, but I disagree. Sure, I was able to beat all the sets of microgames once in the first day I had it, but that's only scratching the surface. After you beat a Boss level or complete a set number of games, you recieve a weird souvenir, which could be anything from a party blowout to a parrot that repeats whatever you say into the DS's microphone. This keeps you playing even after your first run through the game, trying to beat challenges and unlock more extras. I still don't have them all. I still haven't even played all the microgames.

Another cool feature of this game is the fact that only the touch screen and the mic have any importance in the game controls; everything else just pauses the game. While this makes for a fun, different way to play, you should be careful not to get too carried away in trying to beat the clock, or else it's easy to scratch your screen. I know. I've been very, very careful {or have tried to be, anyway}, but my screen still got some scratches. Oh well. This game is worth it. This isn't a story-oriented game like Super Mario 64 DS {which, by the way, is an awesome game}, but it'll keep you playing for quite some time. Oh yes, it's got some pretty cool music too, 2 songs having lyrics. I really enjoy this game, and I recommend it to anyone who has a DS.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have for DS owners, May 1, 2005
By Madisen (Fruita, CO United States) - See all my reviews
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Warioware: Touched! (Video Game)
This is the first must-have game for Nintendo's new handheld. With great implementation of the DS' unique features, fun-for-anyone gameplay, and quirky tone, this will please both the masses and the diehards.

The hook here, obviously, is the touch screen. Let me tell you, using a stylus is just as intuitive as using a button interface. Everything is incredibly responsive; I can't think of a single time when I had to tap or rub repeatedly to get the game to react.

There are a respectable number of characters in the game, each with his or her own control mechanic. To complete the game, you must finish a set of each character's "microgames" (think minigames, only they last around 5 seconds each). For example, there's a character for "slicing", one for "scribbling", and another for "dragging", among others. This variety keeps the game fresh, and always makes you excited to play as a new person.

The microgames themselves are extremely well-designed. Although you are thrown straight into them, with no explanation or instructions, it's a cinch to figure out your objective and complete it within the time limit. You'll find yourself doing things as diverse as scribbling ketchup onto hot dogs, chopping carrots, or scratching backs. Lots of the games are funny, too. I should also mention that each game has three levels of difficulty, which adds more variety.

Maybe what I like best about this game, beyond the great gameplay, is the extraordinary amount of content. Sure, the "main" game can be finished quickly, but there's a boatload of things to do after viewing the credits. By earning high scores, you can earn tons of extra prizes. These prizes are really great and unique; you can unlock everything from a playable piano to a two-player ping-pong game.

This game has convinced me that the DS has real potential. It's a joy to play, it'll keep you entertained for hours, and it's full of little surprises that'll make you smile. If you have a DS, run out and play this now--I can guarantee that it'll make you leap up and exclaim, "Touching IS good!!"

Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Warioware: Touched! (Video Game)
When I first got this game, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but i got in my car and started playing and couldn't stop! i was totally adicted. I got home around five, and the next thing i knew it, it was 8 o clock. This game has over 180 five second micro-games, and it made me realize how much fun you can have in five seconds. this game is a very good time-waster, and a fun thing to play when youre bored, or when youre on a long trip. this isn't just a kid game either, my dad has alot of fun playing it too. this game is worth 30 dollars.

This review is from: Warioware: Touched! (Video Game)
While I can't wait for Wario Ware twisted for the GBA, Touched certainly has alot to offer. First off the game looks great from the opening movies to the variety of graphics offered throughout the minigames its a visual treat. While the minigames are short as they were designed to be the game itself is stellar, utilizing the touch screen (as others have noted)to possibly redundant heights. The thing is if you want button based minigames you should look to the older Wario Ware mega games title for the GBA (which will run on your DS) or the upcoming Twisted, as there is much button mashing contained in both. Touched was made to show off this system and its touch screen, and with its cool unlockable extras and over 200 minigames it does just that, incredibly. The genius of these titles is how they take simplicity and make it challenging for any age or level of videogame skill. The levels that each minigame is capable of also add to the replayability. While not the deepest DS title on the market it has to rate as the most fun and accessible title yet for the system. YEW!

Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Warioware: Touched! (Video Game)
Nintendo, always known to make unique games, hit a high note in originality when it released the original Wario Ware on the Game Boy Advance two years ago. Soon enough, there was a GameCube version. Now, with the capabilities of the new Nintendo DS handheld, Nintendo has had more than enough open space for innovation. The product is one of the DS’s most anticipated titles—Wario Ware: Touched!.

All of the Wario Ware games test your endurance and your ability to think quickly with dozens and dozens of quick mini-games. Wario Ware: Touched! goes a step further with a new means of control: the DS’s stylus and microphone. This time around, you’ll face up against 180 “microgames”, each with a different type of action you’ll need to perform. The microgames are truly unique, simple, and hilarious—some of them are almost disturbing—but they are all, for the most part, a blast. However, not one of them lasts more than five to ten seconds, so you’ll never get stuck for an extended period of time on a certain game.

I personally enjoyed most of the microgames, although some are certainly more fun than others. One that I thought was hilarious involved a little fire burning on the side of a mountain. To put the fire out, you are instructed to use an angel that is dangling from the sky, armed with a hose located in a “certain” place. Another that I enjoyed was one of the last games you play, where you guide an explorer through a cave of traps by cutting down bushes and breaking rocks by tapping them with the stylus.

As fun as individual games are, you are hardly given time to notice. As you play Wario Ware: Touched!, you unlock more and more characters with their own unique premise behind each game. You’ll use your stylus-tapping skills as Wario, your scribbling abilities as the ninja twins Ana and Kat, and even blow or sing into the microphone as the karaoke robot Mike. As you run through their quick little “stories”, you play microgame after microgame, with each one getting faster then the next until you reach a “Boss Stage”. These stages are actually quite simple in comparison to some of the other games. You are given much more time, even if the ultimate goal is a little tougher.

Another perk to Wario Ware: Touched! is the simple production value. The graphics are never a steady quality. Some microgames use simple sprites, others use real-life images, and a select few use the 3D capabilities of the Nintendo DS. Even though this might come off as a fault, it actually adds points to the originality of the title. Also, the music is fast, cheery, and very upbeat. It always keeps you glued to your handheld, ready for the next quick round of microgames.

Wario Ware: Touched! does have its share of problems, though. The biggest issue, and one that you’ll quickly notice if you purchase the game, is the fact that the fun only lasts a few hours. It literally only takes two to three hours to unlock every microgame and every “toy” (which range from a calculator to an advice simulator). As quirky as the two or three hours might be, a game shouldn’t cost so much for such a short ride. The price of admission is $34.99—meaning each hour of gameplay is worth $17.50—but the only positive note is that the game doesn’t end when you’ve unlocked everything. The fast-paced games and the strange charm will keep you coming back.

Although there are a lot of good things about Wario Ware: Touched!, the basic flaw still remains: it is a tough choice to throw down so much cash for such a short experience. The game can easily be replayed for hours and hours, but you’re basically paying for 180 hits of attention deficit medicine rather than a full-length game. The only ending comment I can say is that if you were a fan of Sega’s Feel the Magic XY/XX or past Wario Ware games, you’ll definitely eat up the addictive microgames in Wario Ware: Touched!. Otherwise, you will most likely be disappointed with the super-short length and the nearly-pointless gameplay.

Fred's Review:

5/5 stars

Intelligent Systems does it again with another WarioWare game. Each of these games have tons of short 5 second mini-games that test your reflexes and timing. But this particular one hits 5 stars with it's great replay value. Another reason why this one is great is because it puts great use of the touch-screen on the DS. Souvenirs which you unlock after getting certain records put more reason for playing it over again. Souvenirs are things like a juggling game, clacker, parrot that repeats what you say from using the built-in microphone in the DS,timer, piano, and some party equipment. These souvenirs make you want to keep on playing to beat records. This game will probably have you playing for a couple of months, every now and then I'll start playing it again.

4.0 out of 5 stars BEST DS GAME EVER!!!, May 15, 2005
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Warioware: Touched! (Video Game)
Do not, I repeat DO NOT pass on this game. In Wario's debut with the DS game system I couldn't wish for anything more from a game ever! This game is extremely fun because of the single fact that you get to play 180 new microgames with the touch screen. Yup, you heard me folks, you don't use those pesky buttons the entire game. This style of gameplay makes Warioware: Touched the best game ever. This game has many micro games, over a 180. If you are wondering: What is a microgame? Don't worry, I'll explain. A microgame is a fun game, that takes about 5 seconds to complete. Now you must be thinking: That is so easy then! Nope, your child won't get bored of them, because they become very hard to complete in the later levels. The game is set up in a very interesting way. Each charcter has there own specific type of games. For example, with the character Jimmy T., you have to rub to complete the games. Each character throws exciting new games your way. In one of the characters, you evn use the microphone! To unlock more charcters you have to beat a chracter yuo have. But the fun doesn't stop there either. After beating the game you can try and beat your highscore's for each character. This part is challenging, and I promise it will keep your child interested. Another cool thing about this game is the toys. Whenever you beat a character, you get a "toy". What is a toy, you might ask. A toy is a cool little thing that is fun to play with. For example one of the toys is a "harmonica." Where you blow into the microphone and then press button, and then your DS is a harmonica. Some of the toys are minigames. A minigame is different from a microgame. A minigame doesn't last 5- 10 seconds, but last as long as you keep winning. Another cool part of the game is the album. Here you can play microgames you've played while using the charcters. It is a cool feature, and it really adds to the replay value of the game. I also enjoy the sountrack to this game. It has many catchy tunes, that are sure to be stuck in your head. Each character, along with having there specific type of microgames, has their one soundtrack. There are also many classics. such as the Nintendo Theme Song. Overall, you MUST BUY THIS GAME. If you have learned anything from this review, I hope you learned, what an awsome game this is. I would recomend it over any DS game you can name. It's got fun, hardness, and replay value. If you want your child to have the best DS game, buy this one.
