Can't go wrong!
All the skepticism I had about the true quality of this product went out the window very shortly after unwrapping it. The eveness of the bounce, and smooth overall feel of these balls leave similar products by Stiga in the dust. It is very rare to find a product that actually performs as advertised. I really think that I got what I paid for, and then some!

Performs well, but quality issue?
I am a semi-avid player; I play for an hour three times a week over lunch at work with a few competitive players. I have used Butterfly 3-star balls many times before without a problem (always supplied by one of the other players). It was my turn to get some balls so I bought the six pack via amazon. So far we have used 3 of the balls (the third only being put into play...

durable, February 5, 2006
This review is from: Butterfly ITTF Approved 3-Star 40mm Table Tennis Balls (6-Pack) (Sports)
Perhaps all ITTF approved 3-star balls are the "same" if you use a new ball every match. But in my experience, Butterfly balls last a whole lot longer than others. Get a pack and try it for yourself.

Solid, good bounce, January 29, 2008
These balls are superior to other 3-star brands I have bought locally. They are very solid, ie. strong against the slams. A very consistant bounce, and good reaction to spin. Very happy with purchase.

How Durable ?, November 12, 2006
This review is from: Butterfly ITTF Approved 3-Star 40mm Table Tennis Balls (6-Pack) (Sports)
I bought 6 pack Butterfly 3-star balls. I used one of them and it had no uneven bounce and had a clean finish. I play TT with a group of guys who love to smash this ball as hard as they can. It lasted not more than 15 games (21 point game) or 3 days. I do know that some cheaper ones can last longer but they do have uneven bounce.
I hope my review is some sort of benchmark to measure the durability.

Some of the best !, April 5, 2008
These are just great balls! Butterfly manufactures some of the best Table Tennis balls and their 3 star series are commonly used in competition throughout the world. Upon playing with them, I find them to be very consistent from one to another.

Superior performance, March 31, 2008
These table tennis balls are great. As soon as I tried them you could feel the difference with other brands. It has a nice bounce and last long, and I mean long. Butterfly 3-star balls are perfect for reacreational play as well as for competitive play so if you're a beginner this is what you want to use or if you are a higher level player (intermediate to expert) these balls will get the job done. These balls are worth every cent you spend. It will be the official ball for the 2009 World Championships for one reason; they're superb!

Great bounce and very durable, March 27, 2007
This review is from: Butterfly ITTF Approved 3-Star 40mm Table Tennis Balls (6-Pack) (Sports)
Haven't tried all of them yet but the balls have a great bounce and are very durable. Better to buy these balls than wasting money buying twice the number of 1 star balls.

One of the best TT balls, August 1, 2009
This review is from: Butterfly ITTF Approved 3-Star 40mm Table Tennis Balls (6-Pack) (Sports)
Excellent top quality ball (a best buy). I like these better than Joola Super 3-Star (very poor durability), Donic 3-Star Balls, and Stiga T0641 3-Star Table Tennis Balls, 6-Pack (Orange) (best of these three) being faster and more durable (and durability has become a big issue today). But, as tomthree points out - these are not as good as the even faster and more durable Nittaku Premium 3-Star Balls (the standard for players at my local tournaments). Note: TSP (hard to find anywhere), DHS Athens, and Double Fish 3-star balls (not currently available at Amazon) are also very good. Now, the Butterfly is a fairly soft ball... softer than the all of the others mentioned (and so, they don't bounce quite as well but they do allow for greater control). However, again as tomthree points out, the butterfly's are cheaper with the Nittaku Premium 6-pack normally going for $13.50 (plus shipping). Your level of play (and budget) as well as bounce and control preference will determine whether Stiga, Butterfly, or Nittaku Premiums (the harder to find TSP, DHS, and Double Fish not withstanding) are best for you; I'm currently a Butterfly player.

Suberb balls!!!, October 20, 2007
These are great balls. I play intermediate level game and hit a lot of shots. Even with extreme playing, the ball will last for 40-50 playing hours. The other exciting thing is the consistent bounce. Once you try this, you won't go back to any others! Just buy it, it is more than worth the money you pay for it.
