Very useful
I got this for a w300i, and it allows me to get pictures and videos off the phone without paying the monthly fee for sending data over the phone. It can be used to put mp3s on the phone as well.

seems to be a lower quality knock off
The cable I received was missing the ferrite noise suppresion beads on either end, but it did eventually work once I downloaded the correct software. It doesn't come with any software, so you will need to download the SonyEricsson PC Suite Software to connect a phone to MS Windows. The wire 'they' wish you didn't have, July 16, 2009
BRIEFLY:
This inexpensive wire allows for easy transfer of media files - photos, DRM-free music, videos, etc. between a Sony Ericsson phone and any computer that has a USB port.
It is very useful for phone users such as myself who are only interested in a 'phone calls only' plan and are not willing to pay the phone company some extra monthly charge for Internet service.
It is needed because the Sony Ericsson phones do NOT support a standard USB interface so a 'normal' USB cable will not work.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION:
I'm not surprised my wife's Sony Ericsson's TM506 came without a USB interface wire. It was a 'free' phone and the phone company wished they could nickel and dime us forever through their 'plans' and and make us pay various monthly service fees for the privilege of downloading a couple of songs or uploading photos or videos we made using the phone's camera. The Sony Ericsson's phones lacking a standard USB interface is probably intimidating enough to persuade most users to succumb to the phone company's demand of an extra $10 or more per month for 'web' access. But it does not need to be this way.
Since we only wanted a phone that made phone calls this inexpensive wire allows us to squeeze some extra functionality off our free phone by allowing us to transfer media files in and out of the phone by connecting it to a computer. It's easy, it requires no software installation and we don't need to pay one extra dime to the phone company for the privilege.
Positives:
- eliminates the need to pay the phone company for an Internet connection
- no software installation required
- file transfer is actually faster
- allows for easy media files transfer to and from OUR computer - all DRM-free files can be easily send to the phone
- even users who have an Internet plan may appreciate the ability to connect their phone directly to their computer
Concerns:
- some minimal computer skills are expected - such as the ability to recognize specific file types and copy or move them to/from specific folders
Conclusion: recommended to any Sony Ericsson phone user, with or without a media or Internet plan.

Works Well After Software Installation, April 30, 2009
Haven't used it much. Install PC Suite software from Sony Ericsson's website first. Functions with my w760A.

SE Z750a USB Cable, September 21, 2008
This cable works flawlessly with the Z750a. No additional software was needed(running Windows XP), just connected the phone to the computer and the phone automaticly gave options for me to select. Great product.

No bones about it, October 10, 2007
What can I say? It works. I mean, it's a data cable...the information either reaches the other end of the cable or it doesn't. It always reaches the other end for me...so therefore it deserves 5 stars out of 5.

Work but charging is too slow, July 3, 2008
This USB cable is ok for moving files in and out. But to use it for charging the Ericsson battery, it is just too slow. After hours of charging, the battery level increase only say 30% comparing to full charged if using the regular power adaptor. But it cost almost nothing to buy and work perfectly if using it for files transfer. So, I still give it 5 stars.

Great deal for a USB Cable for my Sony Ericsson W518a phone from Original Equipment Manufacturer., December 26, 2009
It's a top quality product from the Original Equipment Manufacturer. A rock bottom price for an equipment specific USB Cable. The $5.95 shipping & handling is more than offset by the low cost.
