Good Device, seems to be accurate
This device is easy to use, read and store. It does what it is supposed to and contains good instructions that helped me to get accurate readings. (For example, how to sit and hold your arm for the best readings). There are also tips about when to take your blood pressure that other devices I have purchased in the past have lacked. No problems. Just works.

Very sensitive device
Unfortunately, this monitor is very sensitive. You have to be very careful of position of your hand and monitor when measuring. If you change it just a little higher or lower than instructed the results become quite different.

LifeSource UB-512 qualified initial assessment, August 27, 2007
I have for some time been using an Omron HEM-704C at home to track my blood pressure, but purchased the UB-512 so I'd have something more mobile. I subsequently have been appalled by the contrasting disparity in the readings of these two devices, with the HEM-704C giving readings such as 110/60 while the UB-512 virtually simultaneous readings vary from 152/66 to 220/75. It is well understood that blood pressure readings can vary, but when it is to this degree then the readings must be considered suspect.
I tend to regard the Omron as more accurate since its readings in past have not been that different from readings I've gotten when I'm at the doctor's office, and because its separate readings vary so much less than those of the LifeSource monitor. Nevertheless, as indicated above this is a qualified initial assessment as I can no longer be positive what my pressure is (unless I'm in a doctor's office).
The UB-512 appears to function well mechanically, but if you purchase this item you might want to verify its accuracy by comparing it with another instrument you know to be accurate.

The monitor gives erratic readings, January 29, 2009
I recently purchased this Lifesource BP monitor and had to return it immediately because the readings were erratic and the product isn't reliable at all. I tried it on my wife and myself and the device wouldn't give reasonable readings. We followed all the instructions as per the manual and also tried fitting the monitor in different places on the wrist, it still couldn't give accurate readings.
I wouldn't recommend buying this product unless you have tried it before making the purchase and compared the readings with the readings at your doctor's office.

Irregular Readings, May 17, 2009
I have high blood pressure and I need to monitor it daily. With all the mixed reviews it was tough to decide on which one to buy. The LifeSource UB-512 was recommended by a friend who has one. It seemed to be as accurate as my doctor's, but after a few days with it. I noticed the readings were too inconsistent from reading to reading all within a minute of each other. I returned it to my friend and purchased the number one recommended unit out there, The Omron HEM-650, I give it 5 stars for accuracy and the Advanced Positioning System it uses. I get consistent readings each time.

Blood pressure monitor by Life Source, March 7, 2010

Pretty good, both with the price and size, November 6, 2009
Easy to carry with a protection box with the close reading compare to my UA7xxx monitor. But my family does not trust the reading from the Wrist. Any way I use it as reference and found it is what I was looking for.
