Better than most phones I have!
The phone does appear and install (and works) without the driver installed, however (the first reviewer stated this as well) the ringer is not that loud. UNLESS you install the driver software, then it is actually VERY loud. And also the buttons do not work on the phone until you install the driver (which integrates perfectly into XP and Skype).
When the Phone is...
Does not work fully for yahoo mesenger and others
Phone does not work fully for MSN or yahoo messenger, maybe does not work either for other than Skype, if you use other than skype then the keypad won't work , if you are trying to avoid using the computer keyboard and if you are not running skype do not buy this phone.

When the Phone is disconnected, it will default back to your soundcard automatically, so if you get a call it will always work one way or the other. It has an LCD display which displays useful information (caller ID and length of call, and time date) but does NOT display unless the drivers are installed. So I suggest installing the drivers, even though the basic sound functions DO work without it.
Very economical and VERY GOOD deal.

I'm keeping this baby... IT works.. And works.. and works.
I haven't had a lock up yet.
I've tried 2 wifi phone (that required a computer), and 1 bluetooth phone. All 3 locked up/crashed or required me shutting down apps and restarting them in order to "get it going again".
This thing works constantly, consistently and has good sound quality. The feel is a bit light; but heck; I use it with a laptop; so light is good.

This phone was recognized as an audio device by WinXP from the minute it was plugged in. I never did install the Skype helper software, because it just worked. Besides, these days I The sound is fine, though I wish the ringer were louder and the cord longer.
This would make a great present to someone who would enjoy free internet calling but is put by the headphones/mic config stuff.
In retrospect, I might have been happier with a USB headset because I don't really use the keys and screen, but this thing works and I have no regrets.

I recently dumped my cable company's Digital phone service and needed a good way to dial out via voip using Skypeout (a nominal 3$/mon). This unit fit the bill perfectly, and works very well. I use my PC speakers to hear calls, and have had no problems with feedback or such. It connects via usb and comes with a CD with the skypemate software (you will need to download latest version of Skype. I got this unit for about 20 dollars including shipping. Would recommend this product.

I purchased this phone to use with Skype. It works great! I have Windows 7 - 64-bit and truly, I was expecting problems. I was prepared to send it back. I just followed the directions and everything ran perfectly. My friends are happy that they can now hear me far better than with my microphone! I love this phone and for the price I am very pleased. I would highly recommend it to any Skype user!

This little USB phone does exactly what it's supposed to do and I did not even need to install any drivers, Windows XP's built-in USB sound device driver works. The sound quality is good enough for online phone talkings.

This VOIP phone is a good value for the money; it is exactly as described. Windows Vista recognized it instantly when plugged into a Dell Inspiron laptop (via Gigaware hub). Sound is sufficiently loud, the echo is cancelled on Skype, it rings nicely when a call comes in, and it has already survived several drops to the hardwood floor. It's easy to use compared to a headset for non-video calls.

A great little device for the price! That's not a bad thing, I like things that work like they cost big bucks but don't.
I have a blind musician friend and if he tells me something sounds good it does. He loved the audio from this phone and I could hear him like that TV commercial where the two guys have their heads together. LoL!
I installed the software it suggested and the phone installed it's drivers and it worked with Skype right away. I set up the computer so it would stay on when I closed the cover and I put it in my backpack and as long as I have a wifi signal, "Skype Out" credit and the software running (always!) I can make great calls.
The box says it's a wifi phone that works with Skype of course but it also seems that it should work with other VOIP software but it really likes Skype. Oh well, so do I!
Thanks for an inexpensive product that performs so well!

This phone works great and just as advertised. I use it when I don't want to use a lot of minutes on my cell phone such as customer service calls etc. The voice clarity is just as good as my previous VOIP with Vonage and there is no time lag or other problems that I've seen so far. Skype allows usage at no cost for toll free 8xx numbers and charges only about 2 cents/min for other calls to land lines.

The phone is universal and loads most of the software available for it from other companies .. was easy to install .. but needed newer software when it arrived. Very good value for the money. Many companies use this phone under multiple brands .. its a chinese made clone
