I use to be the flagbearer for the Cardo Scala 500 and LogiTech Pro --- and while those headsets hold a special place in my heart, they'll never see the light of day anymore because of this great new headset from Jabra
The JX10 is an EXCELLENT headset --- I'll list the pros and cons below -
1. SOUND QUALITY OUTBOUND --- I called my own voicemail and talked into it, while wearing this headset --- not only did it sound great in my regular voice, but I could even hear myself whispering (yes, I tested that too) --- so don't believe those who say that people on the other end will not hear you --- outbound sound quality wise, its the best headset out there, as I heard no static, no drop-outs, and no tunnel effects
2. SIZE --- easily, this is the most comfy headset out there --- it is optional to attach it to your ear, and wear it without the loop --- honestly, the loop holds it in place much better, with no discomfort one bit --- yes, you can wear it without the loop, and it will hold okay, but either way is fine --- the thing is TINY which is neat
3. CALL PICK UP --- call pick up happens instaneous, with a half a second delay --- no manual initiation necessary
4. BATTERY and CHARGER --- the battery seems to hold just fine all day --- and the charger is real small --- the package also includes a USB charger, so that you can charge it over USB on your computer, which I thought was pretty useful for people on the road
Other pros would be that the RANGE seems pretty solid, and PAIRING was easy (I liked that JABRA created a SEPERATE pairing button)
I would consider VOLUME a pro --- it would be nice if it was louder --- however, I can hear everyone just fine, provided that I'm indoors (whether that be in the office, in the car, etc) --- it can hold its own outdoors, but if you use your headset a lot outside, then you may wanna test run the JX10 first --- I think the Cardo Scala 500 had the LOUDEST volume, and the JX10 comes very close to that loudness
CONS ---
1. BUTTONS --- this is really a MINOR complaint --- I think the button placement (accepting calls, ending calls) could be a little better - but its not a big deal, and certainly, not a deal breaker --- the thing is so small, that its kinda hard to fit any buttons on it anyways
honestly --- can't think of any other cons
The headset is definitely the best looking --- silver with black streaks!
I love this headset, and its gonna be awhile until its unseated
yes, the price is steep, but its worth it --- take my word for it
thank you for reading and HAPPY BUYING!!!!!

I've tested most of the name brand headsets out there, including the Motorola HS820/850, Jabra BT800, Sony Ericsson, and others, and this one is by far the best one yet overall.
My profile:
I'm an IT professional who's on the phone all day long, (and most nights), making & receiving calls while in the car, at lunch, at home, and everywhere in between, so I needed something light, small, and with great battery run time, that can stay on my ear comfortably and unobtrusively.
I first have to mention that I'm on my second JX, since the first one I bought was apparently having a firmware issue which caused it to disconnect/reconnect my headset around every half hour or so, making it very annoying since sometimes it would not reconnect.
A quick email to Jabra tech support, and they came through and stood behind their product, offering to replace it with a new headset at no charge (the only charge I had was to ship the product to them).
The new headset works wonderfully. It stays connected all day long, and it also is a lot quieter than the headset it replaced, since the faulty one had a pretty loud hiss when making and receiving calls.
Features:
* Sound quality & volume
This is a biggie. The sound can be cranked up to a point that it's TOO loud, so even on the noisiest environment this unit will perform. Unit has built in DSP (digital signal processing), which actually adjusts the volume in relation to environmental noise.
Quality is very good but not excellent, with a little background hiss when making & receiving calls (you only notice this initially, but quickly get used to it).
Sound quality is something that Motorola 850 has an advantage on, but it's something I can live with since the delta between very good and excellent is very small.
Callers on the other side of the conversation can hear me well, so the directional microphone seems to working very well.
* Size & comfort
Headset is unbelievably small and light, and you literally forget you have it on (I actually have to reach and touch my ear to make sure that don't have it on before going to bed or getting ready to take a shower. Yes, it's that small).
It features an adjustable wire loop that can be bent to fit any size and shape of ear, although I've found a weakness in this design is that the ear loop can get detached easily from the main body if you're not careful, since it clicks in place for switching from left to right wearers.
Unit sits snuggly in the ear and does not flop around like other designs, as I wear it when I work out and use the treadmill, and the headset will not move!
* Battery
Battery capacity is awesome, and it will last several days with normal use (I'm not normal, so I cradle mine every night), and your phone will run dry before the headset does.
* Charging
Unit comes discharged, but that is not a problem, as fully charging this device takes about two hours.
Another plus is that this model, as with other Jabra headsets, comes with both a cradle and a USB charging cable that allows you leave the cradle at home and take the USB with you to your office or on the road.
Then you can charge your headset by simply plugging the cable into your PC or laptop's USB port (very convenient).
* Ease of use
The JX has a main button for making/ending and redialing calls, as well as two volume buttons and a small paring button.
Unit turns on very fast (around 2.5 - 3 seconds), and the buttons are very tactile and easy to reach, so operating the unit becomes second nature very quickly.
Pairing is a snap. Just press the pair button until the LED is solid blue and then use your phone or PDA to discover it.
I used this with a Motorola E398, a Blackberry 7105, and currently with an HP iPaq 6315 that is my current phone as well.
* Styling
Unit is very pleasing to the eye, it has a very small footprint and the blue LED is small and doesn't look like an airport runway beacon that blinds other people around you.
To recap:
Pros:
Size & weight
Comfort
Battery capacity
Sound quality & volume
USB charger
Ease of use
Jabra Tech Support
Cons:
Wire loop design tends to come off sometimes
Slight hiss in the background may bother some users
Priced higher then other units
Overall:
Highly recommend if you want one of the smallest, lightest, and great performing headset.

I am going to have to be the first to negatively review this product. This was my first Bluetooth purchase. I had gotten a new Sprint A900 phone that enabled me to finally use Bluetooth technology. So, after reading reviews and advice from sales people, this seemed like the best option for me.
After using it for a few days, I was not impressed. Others could hear me ok, but when people spoke to me it sounded like they were talking through static. This was true even in areas where there was not a lot of noise, wind or electronic equipment, which tends to hamper Bluetooth technology.
I decided after using it for 3 weeks to take it back to the store and get my money back. I did not feel that the hefty price tag was worth how well it did or did not do in my case. Not sure if it was my phone or the headset, I decided to purchase a less than expensive model to give Bluetooth one more try. I purchased the Motorola H500 Headset.
Surprisingly, the Motorola headset worked very well. When people spoke to me it came in clear and without static. I have had no problems with this headset and it has worked great. It was a little bulkier than the Jabra, but the sound came in clear and it actually was more comfortable on my ear. For half the price, it was well worth the money. I was happy to find that it was not actually my phone but the Jabra headset that did not work, at least not with my phone.
I cannot say that this is a bad product, but in comparison to the Motorola which is less than half the price, it paled in comparison. I would try out a less than expensive model before purchasing one with the hefty price tag. You might be surprised to find that the less expensive models fit your needs just fine.

This impossibly small (1.5-inch, 1/3 ounce) Bluetooth headset is the perfect compliment to slick phones such as the Razr V3. Jabra did a nice job not rushing it to market merely because of its irresistible size. You WILL forget you're wearing it; it's that comfortable. Great with sunglasses, too. It's loud enough for most environments (car windows down...NO). It sounds surprisingly good for both incoming and outgoing calls, although there's a faint hiss at all times that I don't get with the new Logitech Mobile Traveller headset. While sibilants were a bit exaggerated on the Jabra, it sounded clearer to people I called than some other headsets, with less of an "underwater" sound. You can charge it with the included stand, or directly from the charger (awesome), or directly via included USB cable from your computer. This Bluetooth 1.2 headset works with virtually any Bluetooth phone in both Handsfree and Headset profiles.

I used the Motorola HS850 since it first came out and have now been using the Jabra JX10 for the last couple weeks. Both are high quality pieces that reliably get the job done, but there are a few differences. Here are the comparisons I have experienced between the two pieces.
__Outgoing sound quality__
-Jabra and Motorola are about even.
__Incoming sound quality__
-Jabra has better incoming sound. I found myself having to push the Motorola into my ear to hear better. Since the Jabra's speaker sits inside your ear as does a earbud, I no longer have to do this. I can actually drive with two hands!
__Call Pick Up__
-I didn't notice a difference between the two.
__Battery__
-Jabra battery life seems to be a bit longer. I would assume however that newer versions of the Motorola have improved battery life since the technology has matured a bit.
__Pairing__
-Jabra pairs much quicker and hasn't asked me for the pairing code since I originally put it in. Motorola asks me for the code every time. This takes a single step out of pairing.
__Range__
-Motorola was by far more superior in a range test. The Jabra had a difficult time after being approx. 20 feet away from my phone with a wall between the earpiece and phone. The motorola only had problems after 35 feet with two walls between the phone and earpiece.
__Configuration__
-I do not like the configuration of the Jabra much at all. All buttons are hard to press and are located in funny places. I was much happier with the Motorola configuration.
__Size and Comfort__
-Jabra is far superior when it comes to both size and comfort. It is smaller, weighs less and sits much more securely on my ear. As I said earlier, I had to push the Motorola against me ear to hear better. Along those same lines, the Motorola felt flimsy on my head. If I moved my head too quickly in any direction, the piece went flying off. The Jabra sits perfectly in my ear with the earbud-like solution and because it is so comfortable and light, I sometimes forget I have it in my ear.
**IN CONCLUSION**
My experience leads me to the following opinions:
Jabra and Motorola are equal in
-Outgoing sound quality
-Call Pick Up
Jabra is superior in:
-Incoming sound quality
-Battery
-Pairing
-Size and Comfort
Motorola HS850 is superior in:
-Range
-Configuration

I read all the reviews before purchasing this headset, and I must say it has not disappointed. I am using it with a Motorola V710 and it works wonderfully. I am a loader operator at a gravel pit, and it is quite loud in the cab, but I can still hear it clearly at only the second volume level. I bought the Jabra ear gels at Best Buy, and am using the large one. It works much better than the ear hook, and you sometimes forget you are wearing it. The design of the gels channels the sound directly into your ear. They were only $6.99 for a set of six, with three sizes for the right and left ear. They turn this headset from average to outstanding. The noise cancelling feature works very well. People I am talking to can tell that I am in my loader and can hear the noise of my machine, but still hear my voice clearly. When driving in my truck, or at home, they cannot even tell that I am using a headset. Occasionally, there is some static, but if I turn off the headset and drop it from the phone then turn it back on, it works as well as ever. I just bought the Motorola H700, and this one is in another league as far as sound quality and range. I strongly recommend it.

[ORIGINAL REVIEW 3/15/06]: In my opinion, this is one of the best headsets I've seen or used. I've had Jabra 200, 250 before, and I do believe Jabra has done well in this market. Its unbelievably small. I was surprised to see that it is smaller than what it appeared to be in the pics.
I am trying to use it without the loop that goes behind the ear, and it seems to be OK, though not the best hold, but one can get used to it. But with the loop it fits snug and you can forget that you are wearing it since it so light ! I would recommend this headset for its design, quality, SIZE, easy of use, and functionality.
On a side note, I was using a Bluetooth 1.1 headset (Jabra 250) with my Bluetooth 1.2 phone, and I notice that this Bluetooth 1.2 headset (JX10) work noticably better than the previous one. Bottom line, if you have a BT 1.2 phone, try to use a BT 1.2 headset and get the advantage of the 1.2 protocol enhancements.
[EDITED REVIEW 5/23/06]: I have been using the Jabra JX10 for more than 2 months now, and still like it, so am Not lowering my 5 star rating. However, I found a few irks that I'd like to share:
1) I recently bought the Plantronics Voyager 510 and found Plantronics had a noticeable better range (distance away from phone without static) than Jabra JX10. But Jabra JX10 is significantly smaller than Plantronics Voyager so this range issue is acceptable to me.
2) Although you can use the Jabra JX10 without the wire loop, I managed to drop it (on the carpet, phew!) while walking when wearing 'without' the wire loop. I always use the wire loop now.
Bottom line: For the SIZE, good battery time, good buttons placement, USB chargeable, style, acceptable call quality (though limited range) I still like the Jabra JX10 over all other headsets available today.

i bought this one based on the buzz it created in europe before it was readily available here (US) around 1/06.
dislikes: inbound calls have mediocre s/n and breakup at higher volume settings - especially needed outdoors. volume buttons hard to manipulate while in use. you have to steady your fingers near the mic (front)while doing this. i lost calls my first few days, by accidentaly hitting the off button.
likes: style/looks, size, light weight, fits my ear the best. the mic. filters extraneous sounds (highway traffic, wind noise, etc) very well. it picks up calls quickly and my voice commands were easily understood - even with road noise - by my razr v3. it appears to be well engineered - so the guys behind it gave a lot of thought to trade-offs. it's probably the best currently(whatever that means). test drive before you buy, if you can.

Wonderful headset! This is my first BT headset and I needed it to work easily, hold a charge all day because I drive a lot and need to have access to customers without causing accidents! I considered a number of other units that were highly rated on Amazon but decided to try the Jabra first. After a week of use, I cannot find anything to fault. The key features plusses for me so far:
* Lightweight: I have had a hate / hate relationship with all wired headsets because they were a `pain in the ear'! This thing is so light and small that you hardly know it is there even if you wear it for hours. The over-the-ear clip you can notice over time, but it is like wearing glasses so it is easy to ignore.
* Sound quality: At first I wasn't sure. I dutifully charged the unit fully then paired it with my Moto phone (easily!) and made my first call. Hmmm...some static and the volume seemed a bit low. But for whatever reason, since then the volume is perfectly clear and loud and I have yet to have any problem hearing anyone else nor them hearing me. I do think the Jabra defaults to a mid-volume level when turned on each time, but I turn it up and it is plenty loud for my needs.
* Functionality: Easy to answer and end a call as well as redial. I have not yet set up the voice dialing but given how well everything else has worked I expect this to function well, too. (If not, I will update my comments!)
* Style: Okay, everyone who wears these things tends to look a bit weird regardless of brand, size or style IMO. But the styling is very nice, including the charger, and I would rather have some people think I am trying to look `trendy' if, in the end, I am a safer driver than the rest of the morons who cannot use their turn signals because they are too busy talking on their cell phones!
If I had any wish it would be for a car charger with the package. I almost went with the Plantronics for this feature, but overall I am very happy that I did not. The combination of the USB charging cable and the cool desktop charger does a fine job. A car charger would make this absolutely perfect!

I purchased this unit mainly on the strength of the reviews it received here as well as the Palm Treo sites on which I did research.
This is my first Bluetooth headset so it is my only frame of reference. That said I am very pleased with my purchase.
The unit is quite small. It is far smaller in person than the pictures make it out to be.
Very simple to use but Treo owners will need to follow a slightly different pairing procedure than that which is detailed in the owners manual.
The unit comes in a very attractive package (to help justify the price?) with two chargers and a desk stand. Also has a nice felt pouch to keep the unit in when you aren't using it. The headset comes with two loops to hang it on your ear but I never even bothered using them. The unit is so light it will stay in your ear w/o them.
I think they could drop half of the add-on goodies and reduce the retail price by $25.
All of the accessories are well made and of high quality. However, the desk stand is for show only. It is difficult to place the headset on the stand and even harder to take it off. I dumped the stand and simply connect the headset directly to the USB charger. Easy on easy off.
Battery life is more than adequate for my needs and has gone two and a half days between charges.
Sound quality is quite good, as good or better than using the handset itself as long as you are in range. Once you get to the limits of the range you start to get static. As long as you are within 15 feet and line of sight to your handset you won't have any problems.
People I called said I sounded fine but a bit like I was in a tunnel, nothing that put them off. I have had several long conference calls without complaint. I was able to speak in a normal voice and even close to whispering w/o the other person having any problems hearing me.
The buttons on the unit are quite small but well placed and once you get used to their position you will be using them without any hesitation. Just remember that the controls are reversed when you switch the headset from the right ear to the left.
All in all I am a very pleased customer.
Summary:
PROS
Excellent sound quality
Size and weight
Excellent documentation and accessories
Very stylish
Least obnoxious looking BT Headset available
CONS
Price - Most expensive BT headset on the market
Desktop charging cradle very difficult to use
Not as fully featured as less expensive models (tradeoff for small size)
