Great Slimfast product and great Amazon deal
I have been using Slimfast for quite a while as I have lost weight and now need to work at keeping healthy with my food choices. I used the Slimfast Optima in the cans for the longest time. They were fine but very bulky to purchase and store and though the drinks did fill me up for 4 hours as stated they weren't such a treat while drinking them. They tasted fine but...

Not as good as the others
Although the taste is great, it doesn't satisfy me as much as the chocolate milk shake. I don't mean the taste doesn't satisfy me, but it feels that the chocolate shakes are more filling. So, consider that before you purchase.

I have been using Slimfast for quite a while as I have lost weight and now need to work at keeping healthy with my food choices. I used the Slimfast Optima in the cans for the longest time. They were fine but very bulky to purchase and store and though the drinks did fill me up for 4 hours as stated they weren't such a treat while drinking them. They tasted fine but were somewhat bland.
I ordered this powdered version for convenience sake. The order comes with 3 cans - 14 shakes per jar - for a total of 42 shakes. What a great deal! But most importantly I have the freedom to make the shakes to my preference for a treat just like a milk shake. With the directions they say you can just mix it with milk and drink. I don't recommend this - very boring. Definitely use a blender. I use the powder, ice and milk in the blender and add my favorite fruit as well. What I get is a frothy, tasty, cold delicious treat that I look forward to drinking. I savor it and it holds me over for 4 hours and is so preferable to the premade shakes in a can.
It is important to remember that no nutrition/diet item is a miracle worker. This product will give you meal supplements that you will love to drink but it still rests on you to make healthy choices the rest of the time. Slimfast does have great tools for free on their site to help you as you try to loose weight and eat healthy.
Highly recommend this product.

I use this product every day, I use it in conjuction with ice and a bananna to make a very tasty drink thats very filling.

Glad to be able to purchase the three-packs via Amazon. It (Strawberry flavor) wasn't readily available in my Denver metro area ... and it costs less buying the three-pack through this site.

I've searched long and hard for strawberry powdered mix because I enjoy the pre-mixed version but wanted the versatality of the powder. It mixes quickly and smoothly, taste delicious and keeps hunger at bay for 4 hours. I'll definitely be ordering more. :)

I've used Slim Fast for several years to maintain my weight. It makes great tasting shakes with milk, bananas, apples and other fruits. I use vanila and chocolate flavors, but strawberry is my favorite. Strawberry flavor Slim Fast has been very hard to find in stores, so I was really happy to find that Amazon carries it. The service is great and it is very convenient to purchase from home and have it delivered quickly and at low cost.

I drink this every morning at work (mixed with fat-free milk). I bought a "Fit & Fresh" personal/portable mixer for it, but it seems to work when it's just shaken too (it even says shakable on the canister). It tastes pretty good. It's not perfectly smooth like the pre-mixed ones in the cans, but it's not chalky either.

I, for a long time, have used the Strawberries N Cream shakes in cans for breakfast and 10am snack. After they were discontinued this year, I had to buy this powder. I also had to buy it when I went on a trip to Canada. With water it tastes kind of chalky. But add fat free milk and voila! Instant goodness!
In the morning I blend this powder with fresh strawberries and bananas and sometimes add ana vocado. It makes a thick delicious smoothie. Now that the shakes in the cans are back, I'll go back to using them..though am keeping this powder for when I want to add fruit.
I have tried the Creamy Chocolate in the cans..thay aren't so bad too.
I give it three stars because of the chalky taste..and that I wish it came in a bigger size.

Didn't do what it was supposed to do, December 21, 2006

I bought this product due to an article in First womans magazine. Supposedly, Slimfast is patenting the Optima formula, because it is
so great as a weigh loss aid.
You are supposed to replace 2 meals with shakes and eat a regular dinner. Optima is different than regular Slimfast, and you are supposed to stay full longer thereby not eating bad snacks nor suffering hunger pangs in between meals. blah blah, blah
Most of my weight is due to the getting older syndrome" and the metabolism slowing down and not over eating. I am not used to eating large amounts of food, nor am I a heavy snacker, but let me tell you. I would drink my shake, and in less than 2 hours I was starving. I mean stomach growling so the neighbors can hear, pangs so strong my gingerbread village was not safe.
I gave up on this plan after 3 days. I was either miserably starving most of the day, praying for my next meal, or eating the Optima snacks in between shakes twice as often as I was supposed to.
Bottom line, I was either starving, or gaining more weight from having to eat more often to get rid of the pangs.
Don't understand it, and not saying that it will work for you. It might. I quess if you are used to 3 large meals each day and snacks in between it may make a difference, but I'm not hopeful for you.
I hate to diss a product like this, but it really did not work, and actually did the opposite of what it is supposed to do.
I have quite a bit left, since (like an idiot) I bought a month's supply to faithfully do the "Plan". Maybe, my mother n law would like some. (She goes on a different diet every other month and seems to get larger every year-so apparantly she does not care if they work or not.

good, until they get their prepared back on the shelf!
I like the ease of the prepared, but this product has a great taste. I mix it with water.
