Seems to work well., June 2, 2010

I was having problems with an external candida infection, and decided to give these a try. They taste a little funny going down, and while they're dissolving in your stomach (it has a kind of woody taste), but they did seem to help clear the infection up faster. It's important to attack both the candida inside and outside when you're trying to get rid of an infection. Surprisingly, most people have candida in their systems, but don't notice any symptoms. Even if you don't end up with itching, flaking, redness, or other external systems, candida can be causing your body problems on the inside and contributing to variety of symptoms many people never guess could be from bad intestinal flora (digestive issues, skin problems, trouble concentrating, constant tiredness, anxiety, mood swings, OCD, irritability, headaches, cravings for sweets, difficulty losing weight, etc.). This is one easy way to help your body win the fight against candida and get a healthy balance of good intestinal flora back in its place. Also, for any of you trying to fight it on the outside as well as the inside, I've found that coconut oil actually worked better for me than any OTC anti-fungal medications I tried (and I tried more than a few).

Product needs review over long term use, May 27, 2008
this product seems effective in use to reduce and eliminate candida
i am using this once every other day, alternating with another product which contains L. Spirogenes, the bacteria that inhibits candida.
this product seems strong enough and effective enough to be used several times a week rather than every day.

So far this product is WORKING FOR ME!!! I have been using this product for one month now after my Dr. recommended I begin taking yeast prevention pills. I have been suffering from yeast infections on average about 3 times a month. This has been ongoing for over a year now. Fluconazole was effective but it was expensive at $20+ a pill. I was also getting sick of products like monistat which was only a temporary and messy fix. I spoke to my Dr. who explained that my yeast infections were being triggered from my intestines through the food I ate and I would have to balance the level of yeast in my stomach so it wouldn't be spread from the rectum to the vagina. She explained that the yeast was travelling up the vagina from outside. If I balanced the yeast in my stomach before having a bowel movement there would be no more yeast around to be transferred to the vagina. I read reviews on this product on another website and saw many positive ones claiming that it definitely worked. I have to admit I didn't believe that this product would work on me but after taking it for one month, I am confident saying that I have not had a single infection so far (which is a HUGE step for me considering the frequency of the infections I have been getting in the past) How did I choose this product out of the many others at the health food store? I chose the one that was priced midway between the cheapest $8.99 and the most expensive $36. The NOW product was around $18.99. I read the ingredient list and it had all the ones the cheapest product had, and most of the ones the most expensive product had. I haven't been taking the full dosage, which is a recommended 4 capsules daily. I usually take 2-3 a day which still seems to be strong enough to work. Side effects? I don't seem to be experiencing any, but it's only been 1 month so we'll see (which is why I rated this product a 4/5) I also didn't notice any bad taste or odours from the capsules, they taste fine to me. If you're worried that the pills may no be strong enough try using MONISTAT 7 and insert 1 capsule once a week as a secondary way of keeping Yeast infections from coming back. The dosage for the 7 day MONISTAT is pretty small and the box should last you 7 weeks. I highly recommend using the NOW product. I'm curious if cheaper Candida products work just as well but I'm not willing to try them right now, maybe later when my infections have been gone for a few months.
