Johnny's smiling! That's good enough for me!
I hesitated buying this guitar for my grandson when I saw a few negative reviews, but when I checked the list, the 5- and 4-star reviews were double the negative ones, so I decided to purchase it.

I purchased this guitar about 6 weeks ago, after the first week we noticed a crack in the neck, thinking maybe somehow we did something wrong, we took it to a local repair shop, he looked at it and said that this (supposedly brand new) guitar had been repaired before and rather badly, he said he could fix it but with continued use it will crack and become worse, well it...

Johnny's smiling! That's good enough for me!, December 12, 2007
This review is from: Full Size Acoustic Guitar with Free Carrying Bag - Natural
I hesitated buying this guitar for my grandson when I saw a few negative reviews, but when I checked the list, the 5- and 4-star reviews were double the negative ones, so I decided to purchase it.
I realize it's not the best on the market, but a beginner doesn't need the best. Kids often think they want to play the guitar, then later change their minds in favor of drums or something else that catches their eyes. With that in mind and the economical price and the accessories, it was a no-brainer decision. Besides, it's quite stylish in a neutral way; not glittery and showy like some guitars I've seen; more suitable for a 12-year-old.
When I saw Johnny's face light up when he opened his birthday gift ... well, that was priceless to me. It's three months later and he's still smiling, so I consider this one of my best investments.
He's learned a few songs already and is constantly in his room, practicing. Since the sound is good, the noise doesn't bother me. I'd much rather hear him play than listen to blaring rap music. :)
One reviewer complained about the carrying bag, but that didn't worry me at all. It was still a good value, with or without the bag, and we've had no problems yet.
I recommend this to beginning guitarists, no matter how old. If they stick with it and decide to go professional, they can go on to more expensive equipment later.

Guitar for beginner, November 9, 2006
This review is from: Full Size Acoustic Guitar with Free Carrying Bag - Natural
I purchased this guitar for my 13 year old son to learn on. It is a full sized guitar with good sound for the price, and came with strap, pitch pipe and some other small items - I'm not sure what all else. After having it for two months, the "Free carrying bag" is starting to wear in several places so we will purchase a hardsided case soon but, otherwise, a very nice and affordable product for a beginner to start out with.

Good product for the money., November 26, 2006
This review is from: Full Size Acoustic Guitar with Free Carrying Bag - Natural
I got this for my nephew. He is just starting out with guitars. Did not want to spend a lot fo money as I am not sure if he will continue with guitars. Very pleased with the guitar so far. He has taken a few lessons and seems to like it very much. This set came with a gig bag, tuners, extra strings which was good. Good product for the money I would say.

Great for my 12 year old granddaughter, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Full Size Acoustic Guitar with Free Carrying Bag - Natural
My grand daughter wanted a guitar for Christmas, and as I'm on a limited budget, I was looking for the best deal for my money. I found it with this guitar. The sound is good, and it came with everything she needed. She's very happy about the purchase, and so am I.

I can't believe we were sold such a piece of junk and then for it to be passed off as New. Do not buy, Seller is not honest.

Good Beginner Guitar, May 8, 2007
This review is from: Full Size Acoustic Guitar with Free Carrying Bag - Natural
This is a good valued guitar for people learning to play. I didn't want to pay $100+ for an instrument I might not like so this was perfect for experimenting and learning.

Acoustic Guitar, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Full Size Acoustic Guitar with Free Carrying Bag - Natural
I bought this acoustic guitar as a gift for my husband and we love it. It was an excellent buy for the money. It came with everything it stated in the ad and we are very happy with it. My own experience with guitars is limited, so I cannot review the actual guitar from a musical perspective, but I just wanted to say that the seller did a good job providing us with an affordable product and it sounds great to me!

Don't waste your money, January 21, 2010
This review is from: Full Size Acoustic Guitar with Free Carrying Bag - Natural
I teach guitar lessons for free at two local boys and girls club and I am always looking for a good, cheap guitar. I am teaching 15-20 kids from ages 10-16. I gave this guitar a try and was very disappointed. If you are a beginner or getting this for a beginner, you are wasting your money. This guitar will only discourage a child from learning (or an adult for that matter). It is too hard to push the strings down, even for an adult. The sound is really terrible. If you are shopping for a good beginner guitar that is inexpensive, check out the Takamine Jasmine S35 on Amazon, which is only $20 more (no case, but if cost is an issue you can use the box until you can come up with the next $20 for a good soft case). It has been a very impressive guitar for the price. It stays in tune well, and is pretty easy for young kids to play. I teach once a week and often the guitar is still well in tune even after a week of abuse at the club. And it really has a very nice tone for the price. Or if you have a little more to spend, and in particular if the child is smaller (3-5th grader), check out the cutaway version of that same guitar (around $95); the cutaway makes it easier for smaller kids to hold the guitar. Both of those guitars are sold by the same company as this product (Austin Bazaar, they've been very reliable so far). I have purchased about 6-7 of the low-end Takamines for my program recently, and they are a great value for the money. I only had one that had a bad buzz and I had to send it back, but Austin Bazaar has a decent return policy and was good to work with. Guitar is fun, don't ruin it by buying a really bad instrument for your child (or yourself).

You get what you pay for, July 21, 2009
This review is from: Full Size Acoustic Guitar with Free Carrying Bag - Natural
Length:: 1:11 Mins
Terrible. It came in with the e and B string both attached to the same prong, nothing was in tune, and just to prove how bad it was the strap it comes with does not fit this guitar and the top that says "Austin Bazaar" is smudged and it looks like "Austin Baz". Other than that it is not that bad, except for the fact that I broke a string just trying to put it in tune and fixing factory problems. String get over tight to stay in tune and go out of tune rather quickly, but I am sure if I actually pay for good strings (AKA not what it comes with) they would work great. Oh and one more thing one of the prongs that tightens the G string came without a screw. So until I find a screw that fits in there, I am going to have problems putting the G string back in tune. Sorry about the Hum on the video, it is my monitor.
