This is the finest writing instrument bar none. I have been using fountain pens for years, I have had every brand imaginable, including Mont Blanc and Waterman, they do not compare to this pen. You will not regret purchasing this pen.

If you want a very high quality and smooth writing pen then this is the pen you should buy. It looks so rich and elegant with the chrome and 23 kart gold design and writes so smoothly, it's hard to stop writing once you start! I'm a Computer Engineer and work most of the day in front of a computer, but I enjoy writing too, and with this pen you just can't get enough of it. This pen is great for professional use as well as for daily work, like signing receipts, taking notes etc. People always look at the pen when you take it out of your pocket to write. Overall this is as good as it gets!

This pen is a wonderful writing instrument at this price. It is a good size to fit my hand, has a good weight and balance, and the ink flows well. You can buy a better pen, but will pay more than twice the price. I use it for many occasions from informal notes to those situations where the right kind of ink and expression is needed. I would recommend it if you need a hardy sized pen. The smaller Cross fountain pens are good as well if you like using smaller instrucments.

A very well-crafted fountain pen that looks stylish and has a good weight/size for writing. The ink flows well neither "needing encouragement" nor blotting. I've separately purchased and fitted a converter (pity one could not be included in the box as it cost only around $4). My only gripe about the converter is that it only seems to fill to half capacity. Apart from that the pen was a super buy.

Nice pen to get. For the money you get a well weighted fountain pen. The medium nib flows well on commercial paper. It is on the heavy side as some people like their pen to have a good grip and weight to it. I would buy this pen again if i needed to

I have had two of these fountain pens for the past ten years. Wear and tear are minimal and are generally associated with the clip or the cap seal. When one loosens up I send it back to Cross for repairs and bring out the other. I get about 2.5 years of use before I need to call on the backup, but I don't want to be without my favorite pen. Although I spend a great deal of time at the keyboard, I find that my Townsend Medalist Fountain pen is great for journaling and drafting text, gathering thoughts in a flow. I am very happy with this affordable attractive tool and cannot imagine life without my favorite companion.

Cross Townsend Medalist Fountain Pen In Polished Chrome and 23 Karat Gold Plate with 23 Karat Gold Plated Nib - Medium
This is a very attractive and easy to use writing instrument. If you like more heft, just attach the cap. The polished chrome and gold appointments and gold nib make this a very atractive pen. Out of the box with the converter installed this pen just glides. No skips or runs or mess from filling it. With the medium nib the ink just flows as soon as it touches the paper. This pen is another great American product and a joy to use.
My friends were impressed with the price and performance. I have to keep the cap when loaning it; it is a very desireable pen. You will love it too.
