makes great bread!
It makes great bread. Nice big window for viewing. Lots of great recipes in manual and helpful breadmaking info. Isn't very loud, it's lightweight & doesn't jump all over the counter when mixing. I love the 1 lb, 1.5 lb, or 2 lb option. I am very happy with machine!

Toastmaster breadmaker
The box had been opened, there were no directions in the box and the breadmaker did not work. We are fulltime RVers and we were getting ready to leave Calif. and we had to deal with a product which was totally worthless and a huge waste of time....I ended up buying one used at the thrift store for $10, and it had the directions in it!!!

Toastmaster TBR20H Bread Maker, November 27, 2007
I received my bread maker in the promised time and it was packed very well with no damage to the carton.
This is my second Toastmaster Bread Maker. My original one was an old style vertical loaf but the bread was excellent and the bread maker lasted for several years. I sometimes used it as often as 5 times a week. That influenced me to purchase another Toastmaster. I have had it for 4 weeks and have used it several times. The one thing I do not like is that the recipes in the new book do not turn out well for me. The bread is coarse-textured and the taste just is not right. I then tried the recipes from my old Toastmaster and they are excellent, just as they were in the old bread maker. Because of the horizontal loaf shape and only one paddle for mixing, I have discovered that the flour is cleaned from the sides of the pan better by using a teaspoon or two extra of water to make the dough just a little more sticky than was needed with the old bread maker. The loaf is also more rounded and smooth on top.
I would purchase this product again.

Decent Bread Machine, March 31, 2007
I've had the Toastmaster TBR20H bread machine for about a year now. It's very compact compared to other bread machines. It is 12.6" W x 11.4" D x 11.6" H, which is great, if you don't have a lot of counter space. This was an important consideration for me in buying this product. So was price. I paid about $50 at the time.
The machine is very easy to use. Just measure and dump the ingredients into the baking pan in the recommended order, select your baking setting (basic, fast bake, french, whole wheat, sweet, quick, dough or "bake only"), select your loaf size (1.0, 1.5 or 2.0 lbs), select your crust color (light, medium or dark), and press start. (Some of the loaf & crust options are not available on certain bake settings.) Lots of recipes in the manual.
Fast bake takes about 1 hour. The basic, french, whole wheat and sweet bake settings take anywhere from 3 to 4 hours. The quick breads take 1.5 hours, the dough setting is 1.3 hours (plus shaping and baking time) and the "bake only" setting is for baking dough from other sources.
I'm afraid I don't use my bread machine as much as I had envisioned, but it does a decent job when I do. I probably use the fast bake setting the most, since it only takes an hour to bake, but I've also had success with the basic, french and dough settings. I use whole wheat flour under all these settings, so I've never bothered with the whole wheat setting. The others I haven't tried yet. The fast bake loaf does bake less evenly than loaves baked using the other settings I've tried, but I love having fresh baked bread in only one hour.
I'm rating this machine 4 stars because of the lid. It's okay, but a little flimsy. It's fallen off a couple of times, when I was removing the hot pan from the machine. On the other hand, it hasn't in any way affected it's baking quality of future loaves.

Use it almost daily, May 1, 2007
This review is from: Toastmaster Bread Maker, 1.5 Pound Capacity
This is one appliance that does not just take up space on the countertop. It has battery backup and will start up where it left off when unplugged. I make a fresh loaf of whole wheat bread in it daily, and have made cranberry nut and lemon poppyseed bread, with perfect results. These quick breads bake more evenly in the bread machine than in the conventional oven. I've also made pizza dough with better results than by hand, I think due to the fact that the baking environment inside the machine is always just right. This is a great machine, easy to use and makes breadmaking simple. I think the crust comes out too dark even when set for a light crust, so I stop the bake cycle early. I highly recommend this breadmaker.

I am shocked to see how much Amazon wants for the machine I paid around 30-40 dollars for., October 12, 2009
This review is from: Toastmaster Bread Maker, 1.5 Pound Capacity
Here is the model of bread machine I bought for a fraction of the sticker price it sells on Amazon.
If you look around you may find a toastmaster on sale.
Toastmaster TBR20 Bread Machine
The TBR20H is a fully automatic bread making machine that can bake 1, 1.5, or 2 lb loaves of white, wheat, or speciality bread in a couple of hours. It also comes with a fast bake option so you can enjoy your bread in just under one hour. Exactly like the TBR15, there are 8 programs: you just choose a loaf size and crust color (light, medium, or dark). The touchpad and digital readout are easy to follow and use. There is also a digital clock/timer with up and down arrows to let you program the delay timer to begin up to 13 hours later. It retails from upwards of $50

Great little machine, January 31, 2008
This review is from: Toastmaster Bread Maker, 1.5 Pound Capacity
I bought this machine for my daughter. She loves this machine! I tried it myself while visiting her. I made four batches of bread! We just kept eating it! I let the machine make the dough and then I removed the dough to make rolls. YUM! I recommend it heartily.
