Lumbar Cushions
I brought two Ortho Therapy Lumbar cushions for my car. My Father is 84 years old and I drive him and my mother around a lot and we sometimes take long trips. My father has a bad back and usually after just a hour or so in my car his back is really soar. I brought the cushions which both my parents use on our trips even the ones just to the store. Too soft
I had great hopes for this pillow, but it is way too soft to give any support. I have MS and have constant bad lower back ache. I need a supportive pillow for driving. This is not it!

Lumbar Cushions, March 23, 2007
This review is from: HoMedics Ortho Therapy Lumbar Cushion Support Pillow with Velour Cover (Health and Beauty)
My father can now ride in the car with ease. He told me there is a real difference and he really liked the cushion that it did help a lot. He use to be so sore that when he got out of the car he had a hard time standing, now he seem to get out with ease. We have found the cushions to work very well. We like that the cover can come off to be washed when needed. We will be using them for a long time. I think they are better then the smaller roll lumbar cushions, they support your whole lower back and are very comfy. I would recommend them for anyone who has lower back discomfort.

Support pillow, March 8, 2007
This review is from: HoMedics Ortho Therapy Lumbar Cushion Support Pillow with Velour Cover (Health and Beauty)
Pillow is not good for someone who is 6 feet tall. It just doesn't hit my back in the right place. It is also quite narrow for me. My husband at 5'8" uses the pillow all the time, loves it.

another super product from HoMedics, December 17, 2007
This review is from: HoMedics Ortho Therapy Lumbar Cushion Support Pillow with Velour Cover (Health and Beauty)
I bought two of the memory foam pillows and have been sleeping good ever since. No tossing and turning, to grinding of my neck as I turn. So when I wanted to add a little extra support to my writing set up, I saw this and really wanted to try it. I have used back supports before. I end up giving them to the cat to sit on. They are too hard. Yes, they support, but they end up hurting as much as they help. This one with the memory foam supports, but with that gentle cloud like softness that cushions my spine. So far I haven't come across a HoMedic memory foam product I just haven't loved.

Comfy and affordable, September 25, 2007
This review is from: HoMedics Ortho Therapy Lumbar Cushion Support Pillow with Velour Cover (Health and Beauty)
Thought at this price I would give it a shot, and it is actually making a big difference. I have it on my chair at work and I lucked out - it fits perfectly. It's just the right firmness, and it hits my back at just the right spot. Occasionally I have to reposition it - but I'd rather fiddle with a cushion for 10 seconds than deal with back pain all day long! It has completely eliminated my lower back pain.
The cushion lets you sink in slightly, but gives excellent support, like a good pillowtop mattress. And unlike a lot of other memory foam products it doesn't get crushed quickly. I've used mine 5 days a week for 7 months now and the foam is just like it was brand new. The only thing that shows any wear is the strap, from being stretched for so long, and it looks like that will last at least a year before giving in.
If your chair is more than 17" wide, the strap won't fit, and if you're over 200 lbs, it won't be wide enough for your back. But if you're lucky enough to be average sized and have an average task chair, it's worth every penny!

Works fine but needs to be a little Wider, September 18, 2007
This review is from: HoMedics Ortho Therapy Lumbar Cushion Support Pillow with Velour Cover (Health and Beauty)
This product works just like it should. It is soft and form fitting. There are no batteries to poke you with. It's light and portable. The price is very inexpensive compared to other car back supports. The only drawback is the pillow is not very wide and unless you are very skinny you'll overlap a bit. Thankfully I'm more skinny than not right now.

The perfect complement to my couch, December 8, 2008
This review is from: HoMedics Ortho Therapy Lumbar Cushion Support Pillow with Velour Cover (Health and Beauty)
I tend to spend most of my time watching TV, reading or working from home on the center of my couch, which happens to be a little too soft. After spending couple of hours everyday regularly for a few weeks, I started feeling some discomfort, and realized my back was sinking into the couch and wasn't getting enough support. Happened to see this in a store aisle and picked it on a whim. One of the best purchases ever.
I am going to buy one more for my work chair, and probably send some back to my folks.
What's great:
- Contoured memory foam provided just the right support
- The foam warms up using your own body heat and then keeps your back warm while you sit (especially great in cold weather). Perfect for soothing or relieving any pain.
- A strap if you want to strap it to a chair (haven't tried since I use this on my couch).
- Machine-washable cover (must for neat-freaks like me).
- Retained shape even after I bent it badly to fit it back into the cover after washing the cover (see below).
What could be better:
- The removable washable cover isn't the easiest to remove and re-fit. They should re-design the zipper to be along the sides rather than one straight horizontal zipper through the center of the back. The first time I put in the pillow back into the cover, I thought I damaged the pillow because of having to bend it so much. Luckily, though, it retained its original shape (I have done this twice).
- As some others mentioned, it could be a bit wider (or maybe sold in separate sizes) for bigger people.

Too soft for me as well., February 5, 2009
This review is from: HoMedics Ortho Therapy Lumbar Cushion Support Pillow with Velour Cover (Health and Beauty)
I am 6 feet tall and weight 185 pounds. It just does not provide enough support. But to be honest I should have know as its memory foam. I have a memory foam bed and after a while this stuff does not hold up. I am returning mine.

Not exactly what I thought I was getting, September 5, 2008
This review is from: HoMedics Ortho Therapy Lumbar Cushion Support Pillow with Velour Cover (Health and Beauty)
I really like the comfort of this lumbar pillow and the material around it is really nice microfiber, however I bought it to put in my car, but the strap is to small to fit over my seat. I was hopeing to be able to use the strap because I had ruined my last lumbar pillow when it fell out of the car when I got out one night and I didn't realize until the next day. So basically if you are getting this for your home it will be great, not so great for in the car.
