the original 2 blade system that kicked of the saga now at 5 blades. This is still my favorite.
I have had the original Sensor for almost 12 years now, and it still works the best of the ones i have tried. The Sensor 3 blades nick me up more, the Mach 3 again tends to nick me up more as well, and any of the store brand replacement heads for this Sensor just do not work out as well as the original sensor/sensor XL heads. The two blades seem to give me the closest...

I'd rate it higher if it were what I thought I was buying.
That's right. You don't get the beautiful 2 blade razor. You're getting a 3 blade. Now, I prefer (meaning my face) a 2 blade razor. I don't understand all of these 4, or even 5 blades. It's out of control. They put out great products. Just make sure that you get what you want.

Don't waste money on more expensive newer models, if you have this one or can get this one, blades are cheaper and it does better.

A good, safe and solid razor, October 8, 2008
You know I don't know what the heck with all this Gillette Mach-3, Schick Quattro and Gillette Fusion razors. Those razors are dangerous and too sharp. The Gillette Sensor razor is a balanced razor that is safe, shaves close and does not take your skin off having too many blades on one cartridge. I use it to shave my head and I don't feel a thing. I only feel the soft comfort of the blades cutting the few hairs on my head.
I'm glad Gillette kept the Sensor on the market being just a 2-blade razor. I will always stay loyal to this razor for shaving my head because it is safe, easy to use and it does not cut your skin off like the Mach-3, Schick Quattro and Fusion razors. I don't like those razors because for one they are too sharp. I used a Mach-3 and I cut myself while I was shaving my head and I bled for 2 whole hours. Therefore I'm sticking with th Gillette Sensor. The Gillette Sensor is a much, much balanced razor than those suicide Mach-3's Schick Quattro and Fusion razors that will cut you to shreds.

Simply the Best, January 31, 2009
The Sensor Excel is hands down the best razor I have ever used in my life. I have been using it over 10 years now and still it's the perfect razor. I one time bought Sensor replacement cartridges and they are excellent but the Sensor Excel cartridges are definitely much better. I have tried Gillette's newer razors - Mach3, Fusion - and they are OK but I wouldn't want them for daily shaving. But the Sensor Excel is amazing. Whether I have very little stubble or a few days growth, this razor shaves PERFECTLY smooth, EVERY time. Even when the blades are dull, this razor shaves better than most razors with most new blades. In my experience, everyone I know either loves or hates this razor, but many love it, and those of us who love it don't want anything else, ever. I will be very angry at Gillette if they do away with this razor (and I think they have). If that happens, I will buy a Panasonic wet/dry shaver and never use a blade again.

Set the standard.. Still the king., May 18, 2007
Never mind the 'Lillian' name, I'm her husband and here's my 2 cents:
With all the 3+, 4+ and even 5+ bladed razors on the market.. You'd think there is actually a need for them. Nothing that has come out in the last several years does a better job than the 2-bladed Sensor Excel..
It's silly to spend much more for nothing more.. than to say,"Look Ma.. 4 Blades and it vibrates!!"
I buy these by the 25pack available at Costco. I actually came to see if they sold them by the same quantity, alas Amazon does not.
Se la vi.

works for me, September 15, 2009
This review is from: SensorExcel- Gillette Razor for Men, 1ct (Health and Beauty)
I purchased this after getting disgusted with the cost of the blades on newer models. This was actually my first razor when I began shaving, and now I'm back to it. For me shaves just as well as the Schick Quattro and Gillette Mach 3 I was using before, but the blades cost less. I think the only reason I went away from it in the first place was because my razor handle had gotten old and worn out, so I switched to the new (at the time) Mach 3.
The smaller head on these 2 bladed razors are also nice because they are easier to maneuver around the nose and ears.

Thanks for the gift, Gillette. Still loyal after all these years., August 17, 2009
One day, I received a package in the mail wishing me a happy 18th birthday from the Gillette company. Inside there was a Gillette Sensor which I continued to use for 14 years before a plastic piece holding the blade broke off. I've tried the Sensor Excel blades since they fit this handle as well but was disappointed. The original sensor is the best and I'm glad I can still replace it without having to upgrade to the Gillette fusion extreme with seven blades or whatever.

The best a man can get!!!, August 2, 2009
Without taking your face off. Why didn't they stop with this one? Is our facial hair evolving too? Jeezzz. I'm very happy I could find it since losing the same one I had for 15 years!!

The best Razor., October 14, 2007
This review is from: SensorExcel- Gillette Razor for Men, 1ct (Health and Beauty)
This is one of the best blades on the market. They are slowly replacing them with more blades. STOP! It's too much. There are guys out there, like me, where 2 blades are perfect.
I only gave it 4 stars because for some strange reason it came with a 3 blade razor attached to the body. But, when I looked at the extra 2 razors in the back, they had only 2 blades. Unbelievable.

My favorite razor, July 9, 2010
This review is from: SensorExcel- Gillette Razor for Men, 1ct (Health and Beauty)
This razor handles both 2 and 3 blade razor heads. It is hard to find a two head razor handle anymore (much cheaper than 3 blades and works just as good).
